Evil had reached out to me asking some questions and it led to him buying one of the prototype frames I had.

I think the general concensus is 1 pc is preferred. I am going to make the next order 1 pc frames, 14" spacing.

@robincnn I know Ive asked a question similar to this question before, about the h shaped lit for the center fixture. But now that this design mod is out, I have two "bar" type fixtures in my tent and Im just few pieces away(drivers and sinks) from adding a 3rd fixture(4x3590). Better to stick the third"bar" in the middle or, go with this mod for the center fixture? oooo or oooo in a 4x4

Edit* nevermind, I see the bar proto's are nearly done.

So will mod 420 ever come back or did it and already gone?? been waiting since start of october...

Bobby from MI is not reachable, he is the one who designed MOD420
Next week getting pre drilled heatsinks for Quantum Boards.
After that I will find drawings that Bobby shared and will see if I can make some MOD420.
Unless @Growmau5 has a new concept frame for us.

I like the Mod420 personally. I will buy at least one if you get some more.

BobbyfromMI was the cad expert. Unfortunately he is unavailable. pre drilled heatsinks for quantum boards was my first cad project. Those heatsinks come in next week.

The last drawing I have needs a small change for driver position.
I can make some mod 420 but no junction boxes. What type.. 4 cob frame? 2 pcs frame or single frame?
No box available to ship the Single pcs frame. So if single frame ..any ideas
Or how about a 2cob mod 420. 2 cob with driver in center.

If they were made I would take a single piece two COB frame as well as a couple of bar designs for 4 COB's

i have the two piece frame and it is just fine. I'm not fussy though, I'd take either if available!

I am so hoping the individual heatsink mount plates to become available. It would also be cool to have them in the necessary thickness to use as a spacer on the Mod420 for the kb120°s.

I haven't "fully" built mine yet. It is all on delay because I got a probate house, rehabing it. No more renting, no more roomates! Should be living in and start growing by end of January.

Till then..

PS: Those qb304's look nice. Might have to order one or a few with the heatsinks.

It's in imperial units and I cannot work with fractions. I will design a cheaper 2 cob mod 2 next week

Thank you, much appreciated! If a similar design, dropping most of those cut outs in the center frame, maybe just a few vent holes, would save a lot from what I know about watersaw costs

Or even with only the heatsink area cut out. Supply a template that we could printout for the holes that would need drilling. I for one have no problem with a more basic design and a little more work.

Of course we'll be glad to see what you've come up with!

That bar style is revolutionary imo. Growmau5 dis it first and ever since I saw it I've wanted to do it. kinda like a diy PLC.

Working on a 2 cob with driver on center design. Should be easier to ship and cost effective.

length of 5 cob is 44 inches on frame,47 inches from end to end with sstx mounted on them.
4 cob bar is 33 inches frame, about 35.5 inches with sstx mounted and 34.5 with 120mm heatsink
