MOB (Mother Of Berries)

Mother of Berries, or M.O.B., is an indica strain from Maine that provides a deeply relaxing experience that transitions well into restful sleep. Carrying the legacy of its Blueberry parent, Mother of Berries lives up to its name with its unmistakable blueberry fragrance.

So, it’s from TH Seeds. Now, I never trust anything I read in High Times, which is why I’m skeptical about this strain. They gave it a ton of exposure in the latest mag, with a centerfold and several pics. It sounds and looks amazing.

The only non Bodhi stain I’m growing is Critical Kush, which I love. But I always get sucked in to strains that don’t work out. Like Fruity Pebs OG and Gorilla Glue...

Anyone grow it? Recommend it, or not?

I thought the original was clone only? I very well could be wrong,just thought that was something I heard.I'd like to grow that out someday. Very interested in how you make out.

thseeds may be good but I dought its the real deal even here in maine very hard to find real deal,its been watered down an crossed to death grew a ton of it back in the day i haven't seen what I used to grow in many yrs

Don't know much about the TH Seeds MOB.

Lots of controversy over what MOB is, where it came from and even what the M.O.B. in the name stands for. I like mine, it's a quick to flower and quick finishing indica dominant about 50 days indoors and early September outdoors,with a pleasant odor and a good high. Is it the "real thing" ? I have no idea, but the guy I got it from ain't no slouch in the growing department and had an interesting story behind the cut.

I got the cherry pheno and was told it came to Maine via Canada years before, "outlaw bikers" had it in Canada. (Why are they always "outlaw bikers" ? lol )

Been doing a little pollen chucking with mine, hit it with a homemade MOB/Iranian male just to see what I'll get. Pollen chucking is a double edged sword for me, it clogs the ol grow tent up when other known quality girls could occupy the space but sometimes you "discover" a keeper or good outdoor cross that embodies the characteristics you were looking for...key word "sometimes" .

Never tried their version, have grown out the cut that is pretty wide spread in the western mountains of Maine a few times. Fast flowering, sticky with a distinct berry smell and taste.

It's still a pretty popular choice for outdoors around here, but is disappearing indoors now that rec is legal and the cash croppers are disappearing.

I have a cut going now that I dusted with pollen from a Norstar Vintners Moonshine. Will be interesting to see what the results are next summer.

The croppers around here call it Money on the branch, the outdoor fellas always call it Mother of Berries.

its all we grew back in late 90s early 2000s here in the sw foothills always done by mid sept, i saw four strains of MOB grown outdoor this yr none looked the same or finished before oct.if ya lucky to have a cut that's at least 10 yrs old god bless ya. if u bought the cut in a shop it aint the MOB that I know

Bikers were probably where 25%+ of domestic weed came from until 10-15 years ago. Small criminal organizations make their money on drugs and "petty" financial crimes.

I was always a little skeptical if THseeds had the real thing but since it's THSeeds I would bet it is just as good if not better. I've grown the MOB indoors and outdoors and it has a lot of flavor. It's not my favorite weed but I keep it around because my friends love it and it finishes mid Sept outside.

So what I need is a true, couchlock, sleepy time indica. This is supposed be just that, but what else fits the bill? All my Bodhi plants are fire, but none knock me on my ass for nighttime.

I stopped reading HT in the 70s lol trust me whatever u get wont be the true MOB look into LA CON works good in maine!

Back in the 80s when I first started growing, the only place to get info was HT. I used to have to drive into the city and find one particular magazine street vendor that sold it along side porn mags.

Today, I still pick it up when I am at Barnes & Noble and see it there. It's habit, but that mag has not been good since the 80s. Now it's irrelevant- just look at things like pen reviews, or hydro grow issue, lol. Same crap all the time. That's why when I saw the MOB spread, I figured it was BS. Just like their BS cups.

Another one that sucks is Skunk. They went away and just recently came back and each article is selling something. They had a strain guide or something and every strain had a corresponding "leg tights" (or whatever they call those tight leg things women wear- maybe "yoga pants"?) you could buy that had trichs on them. I mean, I am all for that particular look, but...

Sounds like TH seeds finally updated their strain description. Up until recently, it didn't have any of that info about Maine or Boston, where the name came from, etc.
Pics on their site seem close-ish. Def not a purp pheno they're running if it's real at all.
50/50 chance it is typical Dutch re-named BS.

I don't know hells angels but a local motorcycle "club" was raided a few years back. Got em growing, with weight and cash/guns. They also happened to be really "good friends" with the guy who owned the bar down the corner.

Pretty easy to connect the dots as to what was going on in plain sight of everyone, let alone police in a sketch part of town. Got away with it for a couple decades I bet.
