MLB 2023

Things are not going as I thought they would.

Texas Rangers beating both Tampa Bay and then Baltimore, who were the top two teams in the AL

So now we get to watch the battle of the Lone Star State....Texas Rangers vs Houston Astros, this ought to be a good series.

As for the NL...who would have guessed the LA Dodgers would play so pathetic, as Arizona wins 3 games in a row.

Philadelphia just needs one more win against the mighty Braves, but they best do it today as game 5 would be in Atlanta.

Was happy to see Philadelphia eliminate Atlanta, who were the top seeded team in the MLB

I found it amusing when the Phillies fans were taunting/teasing the Braves fans by doing their infamous tomahawk chop & chant.

ALCS
Texas @ Houston on Sunday, Oct 15

NLCS
Arizona @ Philadelphia on Monday, Oct 16

2023 World Series starts this Friday Oct 27th with Arizona Diamondbacks @ Texas Rangers

Never would have guessed that Arizona would advance, as they were the last placed playoff team in the NL.

Texas looks really good, and had to play the top teams in the AL to advance (Tampa Bay, Baltimore & Houston).

I would have bet money that Houston & Philly would advance, but I guess that's why I'm not a betting man.

Should be an exciting World Series....I'll be cheering for Texas

The Texas Rangers win the 2023 World Series, which is their first ever WS win.

Coincidently, Texas played the very first 2023 pre-season (spring training) game on Feb 24, and the very last game on Nov 1st.

Texas played some very good ball to win it all...congratulations to them and their fans.

Can't wait until the 2024 season kicks off :)

The Dodgers got fleeced.
atleast now he has sime sort of team to carry him when he is injured. may not be the same pitcher after that 2nd surgery... 700 if he stays healthy each season and can return to his dominant pitching, but idk im not seeing it. 5 seasons in and the last 2 have had season ending injuries i believe(could be ,probably wrong).

Yes, may be blessing in disguise for teams that missed out. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Ohtani may be the most awesome pitcher/hitter ever but IMHO he's the worst team player in the history of the MLB.

The guy really thinks his shit doesn't stink....and treats the team like he's above them all.

I would sooner have Aaron Judge on my team, any day of the week.

Also seen that he won't be able to pitch until after Sept 2024, so that's the entire regular season as the DH.

$700M is ridiculous but I guess the Dodgers can afford it.

I'm glad Toronto lost the bid for him, as he would have destroyed the Blue Jays chemistry.

I'll be retiring my LA Dodgers hat as long as Ohtani is on the team.

Not even close .. That young man is a WORLD celebrity . The money and exposer he is creating for the organization by just being in a dodgers uniform pales to the 700mil of his contract ,plus he can flat out play .

This is the true test for him and his life long training .Dodger blue pressure hits different very excited to see his HOF potential sink or swim here .

Spring training almost here looking forward to up front bp with him . The sound off his bat just different.

Great move ,BASEBALL is buzzing .

24 hours later opinion: the Dodgers still got fleeced.

Someone had to. Glad it was them. As a Mets fan I thought Cohen was gonna rain cash on him. Glad he saw through the smokescreen.

The Dodger are paying for past performance on a player that will, for at least one season, will only be a batter. A DH no less.

Then the Dodgers have to hope Ohtani will pitch again. Yes, again. Isn't this his 2nd Tommy John surgery? There are no guarantees.
Then if Ohtani can pitch, He has to pitch at the top, of nearly top, of his game for the Dodgers to get a decent ROI on their investment.

If Ohtani comes back and for 7-8 years does what he has as a two-way player then it'll be worth it for the Dodgers, If not, it wasn't worth it.

Also, consider this: The Dodgers are technically paying for two players in one. Any real injury where Ohtani will miss significant time will be a loss of 2 players.

I was "in" on Ohtani when he was healthy and everyone though $500mil/10years.
Now? See ya!

The only thing I am interested is seeing how Ohtani does hitting for an entire year. Every kept saying "Imagine if he only focused on one ability?"
Well now we get to see. And I bet it's still just gonna be 40-52 HR's.

ohtani wants that bobby bonilla money:clap::clap: defer 680mil till 2034-2043 after my career is long gone. hope a nice dodger blue FLEECED lined jacket comes with that contract:wall::spew:
I do find that very strange that anyone would go for that deal....I could understand maybe a portion, but $680M is the majority.

The boy may be an excellent baseball player but a very stupid investor.

Not local.... I'm from the Great White North.

I would sooner spend my money to go watch the Blue Jays in spring training this February
