Mixing Medical Marijuana with Topamax?

Hey guys,
I've been using medical marijuana for migraines I get every day when I wake up (from brain surgeries) for 5 years (with medical card), with medical marijuana I have also been on amitriptyline and propranolol which are fine with being combined with weed, but I had a seizure this weekend (haven't had a episode since 3) and now they are wanting to put me on Topamax but they say I would have to stop smoking but its the only thing that really works for my pain. So my question is, can they be mixed in smaller amounts? Also, has anyone out there had an experience taking Topamax and marijuana together? And if so can you tell me a little about the experience?
Thanks!!!

Well i dont have any direct experience with this but from a pharmacological standpoint it can inhibit gaba receptors, which could lead to an increase in seizures. But overall thc and cb1 receptors help to regulate, activated naturally during a seizure to modulate it.
And gaba is but 1 suggested pathway topamax works.
Realistically in my opinion you should be fine smoking while on it.
You should ask specifically why, whoever felt this way, and report back

The cannabinoids are incredibly complex. Not just being bi and tri-phasic. But many many modes of action, cbd acts on around 10 pathways not including those that are indirect.

Ive always liked the phrase "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing"..or the more you learn the less you know, the more you think you know the less you truly understand.

Ive made my career in drug design and delivery systems as well as treating a wide variety of patients.
I dont follow the norm in that i dont believe weed to be a cure all. There are reasons its not legal and used widely in the medical industry, its not ready. The effects arent entirely predictable regarding dosage and tolerance.
Thc could potentially increase seizure threshold, as jwh does (a full agonist)
But cb1 receptors do also control seizures and regulate. And cb1 antagonism or in cb knockout mice, seizures arose.
Of the many pathways, some induce and some protect..
Overall thc will help... I hope i didnt scare you off
