I am curious to know how many of you RIU growers "mist" your plants?
I have been misting my 2 plants with a spray bottle of ph'ed water since they were 2-3 weeks old. Then it dawned on me, i have never been advised to do this. Seemed like a good idea. If they was outside they would get dew and rained on. Still tho I read thro thread after thread and i never see it mentioned either way.
So if you mist/spray your plants with water let me know, tell me why you do.
If you DON'T let me know, tell me why i shouldn't.

I used to mist but I didn't really see any benefit so I only do it if humidity drops too much. I never mist during flowering though.

I spray the dirt with approx 4-5 good squirts, and spray my plant once, maybe twice. Haven't had any probs yet, just dont spray during flowering, as mentioned above, budrot from hell.

yo man- i grow outside and i mist my plant twice a day-its good to mist them in vegge and i think it helps when you have high humidity in vegge, and really low in bloom.

1) Don't mist with Nutes - Only water (minerals can build up on the leaves and eventually burn your plant.

2) Don't mist with off PH water. (self explanatory)

3) Don't mist when using high watt HID Lights. (Even though your lights haven't been burning your non-misted leaves - adding water to them in bright light/heat can intensify the heat and burn your plants. Also applies to outdoor growing - Don't mist in direct sunlight.)

4) Plants (supposedly) like to be misted on the undersides of their leaves more than the top. (Plus it will lower the risk of burning your leaves from direct light.)

5) Don't mist if humidity is too high. (it will raise it more)

6) Don't mist during Flowering. (Unless you want moldy bud)

7) Be careful of your over spray when misting.. continually spraying water on the inside of your box could raise mold chances... not to mention misting bulbs, wires, sockets, fans, etc.... bad idea.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Hope that helps.

I tend to disagree... most, if not all water is absorbed through the roots, so misting leaves is going to do nothin really, other than magnify the light possibly causing burns

wtf man-go back to school boy!havent you heard about foilar feeding-leaves can absorb just as well as roots.it is good to start foilar feed after a couple of months, cas the root mas is so dense and it dont absorb it as well as it did before, so come the foilar feed at the end, but it is not recommend to mist directly to the buds-ok

The main things with misting are be carful of bulb if use hps or mh and you must have good air circulation and a good oscilating fan system if you do you can mist to the end which I have done I have misted with molasseses and tiny bit of food till the end and then flush with molasses and water

Right now im misting with dutch master penatrator and liquid light package says to mix with water I never listen I mix mine with seltzer and a tiny bit of food when vegging mix veg food when flower mix flower food

when misting turn system off let dry a few turn system on dont have to be completly dry mist should be fine spray not big drops of liquid do you feel me

These boards afre funny one guy says black one says white next says greay tyhen you get the guy that says crange what Im saying is you always get an answer and they alwayts varry you must take it all in than make your own decision you feel me some these poeple dont know what the hell they are talking about but still giveing you an answer some have no kids and tell you how to raise yours you feel me Im misting with right set up you do whats best for you

walk in the light my brother

perfect!! like riched said many different answers to the same question, but u read thro em all and they all support 1 thing. dont get the buds wet. funny thing is i learned that when i purchased my 1st pound. was only 18 and i upped the 1200 bucks to buy a pound. it weighed 14.5 ounces so i was kinda down till this dum ass know it all told me,"u should spray the weed with a lil water to get the ounce bback".
so i did. sounded like the greatest of ideas too. hell i will do this to all the pounds i buy. HELL YA!!
Well, ur all expierienced enough to know what i learned.
boy did that weed stink like shit. livve and learn.
i stopped spraying my plants when they started to flower, but like grow space confirmed foliar feeding. hell i have been told you have to mist brand new clones cuz they dont have roots yet. so why would plants with roots be any different.
grow on mutha fuckas, and thx a bunch for the replys.
