Well dont be afraid to give it a try. I took forever to try it out because I thought it was to easy to kill plants and blah blah blah. It is by far the easiest way I have seen to grow. It is cleaner, easier and the plants grow waaayyy faster and bigger. Its great man it really is.
ill keep your advice in mind, im still doing my first grow in miracle grow lol. they are a month into flowering now. under 400w hps, upgraded from the 150 i orginally had 2 days ago. cant wait.

Congratulations man. Be patient and let them finish. Patience is the hardest part of growing to learn.

i dont got but a 33 wide 63 long 20 deep cab. thats in inches and i dont got the knowledge yet either i would have to read.

lamberts potting mix from home depot i bought today to try. it says its organic i bought perlite to mix with it because it doesnt have any added.
npk? and check your ingredients, hopefully its not too hot for a seedling. id suggest fox farms light warrior. also, i compost the soil under a huge tree that covers my back yard, leaves have composted on this soil for years so its really rich. i add this to a tray and putting it beside your kitchen widow would also be good to throw in egg shells, old fruit, and also give it some water if it needs some moisture.

and hydro is the best way to grow, but for the people that cant check their grows often and cant afford high tech hydro systems that can add nutes or adjust pH automatically if they arent there to do it themselves, i dont prefer it. if you can, grow a bunch outside and just let them run until august, if your leaving for a few days give it a good water and check the forecast to see if its gonna rain, mother nature can usually take better care of plants than any of us.

sounds legitimate, consider looking into worm castings as they're a great source of nitrogen.

thats sounds good, but also remember its been sitting outside that place for probably a few months. and plant nurseries as well as hydro stores will sell worm castings or high nitrogen bat guano that also has a good amount of potash as well. i get a good sized bag of it for about 12 dollars at my local hydro store, but plant nurseries may throw you a better deal. and im not sure, that sound like an alright price but how many pots can you fill?

Hey another thing to watch for with MG soil is bugs. Watch out and kill em asap if you run into any but it seems you are far enough ino your grow where you would know by now.

yes, this was also a big problem thanks bigv. i used to have those spider things crawling out of my pot, they just liked the soil but not the leaves for some reason. and they bit you and shit, nothing a bit of garlic spray didnt fix.

fungus gnats are usually a product of overwatering, try to let them dry out if you continue to have the problem. also adding plenty of perlite may help avoid this, i personally poke holes in my soil to get the roots more air and help moisture wick out, then the faster they dry, the more feedings you can give it in a life time. more nutrients is better than less.

yep i already figured that out. i got 2 5 gallon buckets with miracle grow. one with 50/50 perlite and other without any.. the one with perlite added did better, and had less bugs.

if you still have that soil try to compost it with worms, in a few months you can add guano or manure to it as well as well as banana peels, egg shells, etc and the built up rainwater will give it a great deal of minerals. id say in 2-3 months youd have good veg soil, wait a little longer and keep feeding it and itll be even more rich.

so what would i do? just mix worm castings etc together with it?
I put one hand full to 4 of rest of soil. EWC can be hot a little goes a long way. Hey, just thru this first grow and your understanding of this whole thing. If you can get a 5 gal bucket in your tent, you can do a dwc bucket, I probably try that soon. You move away from that mg soil the more you grow...grow on brother...rw

not all of it, you can make tea and add worm castings to your top soil and put about 1/6 the pot size in the soil if your going to also be feeding it worm castings in your water or tea.
