NPK ratios are just that: ratios. 1 TBS of 2-2-2 is the same as 1tsp of 6-6-6. By time release do you mean ammoniacal nitrogen vs nitrate nitrogen?? IMO that would matter a lot more in hydro than soil. Soil has nitrosoma that can break it down. Most people curb feeding towards the end of a soil grow anyways.

You can get harsh nutes from any nute brand if it's not used properly. Just because MG doesnt cost $40/liter at a grow shop doesnt mean it's not effective.
Even if you stop feeding with MG because of the time release there is still nutes in the soil.

Just like the title says miracle.gro? How much? How often? Good bad results would i be better off without nutes? Help please!!!

the problem with MG soil is the inconsistency from bag to bag. 1 bag can be hot and another bag can be just fine. it can be used if you have experience using it. MG nutes can be used but the amount needed will be determined by the soil you are using.

you dont have to be in a legal state to get good soil and nutes. go to a garden nursery and get a bale of growing mix like pro-mix or sunshine mix. order the nutes online.

The OP was not talking about MG soil which you can use but I personally would not, he was talking about MG nutes which are way hot and not good for flowering because of the high N.

The thing with MG is it is high in NPK and is a slow time release.
If you believe the NPK is too high, you can simply use less.

As to time release, that depends which product you use. Some of the MG fertilizers are slow release; some are water soluble (ie "fast" release).

Again, there are some 15+ products branded as "Miracle Gro" and they're completely different formulations with different NPK ratios, different strengths, different trace elements, etc.

You will need to flush the living crap out of the plants to reduce the harshness. IF you have ever smoked pot that has been grown with MG you know the burning harsh smoke I speak of. There are so many better nutes out there for growing marijuana and you dont need to have a hydroponics supply store near you, that is what the internet is for. Order nutes online. Keep the MG for the flowers. And personally I prefer organic nutes not chemical but that is just me.
Presumably you're going to flush if you use any chemical fertilizers, not just MG.

I think a big reason Miracle Gro is perceived as giving lousy buds is because its the first choice of total newbs, who aren't all that adept at growing anything, let alone timing their harvest, manicuring, and especially curing. These growers would be putting out harsh herb no matter what they did.

Again, I'm not saying Miracle Gro is the best product, and its definitely not. I agree there are better, and I agree organic is the "best". . .if you can do it. I'm saying you can get good results with it, if you pick the right product and know what you're doing with it.

Not incidentally, with two states now fully legal, and inevitably more on the way, its only a question of time before there is actually a Miracle Gro branded formula specifically designed for cannabis. No, they're not going to call it "Miracle grow cannabis", for obvious reasons, but it will have a coded name like "Miracle Grow Herb" and say that its good for growing "herbs and ornamentals", or something like that.

There is already are JR Peter's "Jacks" "hydroponic herb" and "bloom booster" formulas that I've "heard" work every bit as well as specialty branded hydroponics products that cost 6x as much.

not all MG is time release.
Not only is this true, but most of the MG formulas are NOT "time release".

The product that most people know as "Miracle Gro", which is the one in the yellow and green box that consists of turquoise powder is water soluble. It has to be, because you use it by mixing with water. If it can dissolve IN with water, you can also dissolve it OUT flushing with lots of water, if you want to.

There are slow release formulations of Miracle Grow (eg their ""Shake-n-Feed continuous release" product) but these products come in the form of small granules that you are supposed to mix with superficial soil. Note that it says right on the box NOT to use these for indoor potted plants. So I don't see how these would be problematic, again, so long as you use the CORRECT product for your application, and do so correctly.

If you want to use the "slow release" product OUTDOORS, I think you can, so long as you work with its 12 week release time (IE don't add any more later than 12 weeks before harvest).

hiddenpassion you need to go to the library and check out a book on plant nutrition. I've seen you on multiple threads under the nutrients section spreading misinformation...

I have a buddy that uses MG nutes in soil and has some healthy plants. Last I seen them they were in 6" pots and about a foot tall under a 1000w mh. He waters daily and feeds 2 or 3 times a week. There are more plants than u can count and prob rootbound but healthy as shit. So it can be done for veg not sure what flowering results are.
