Miracle grow can work despite what some others say, because you have to realize that this is just a plant, it will find a way to grow and survive. So it will work.

But if you still want something better for your plants I'd recommend you make your own soil mixture. I get really fine manure/potting soil, and a medium composed of peat and perlite and mix those two 50/50.

There are lots of different combinations you could do, take a browse on google and you should find some good info:bigjoint:

I se MG potting soil and it works pretty damn good. I wouldn't down it, but i've never used any foxfarm soil or any other organic because its just a pain in the ass to get it. hydro shop, online..........i just drive 5 minutes to home depot and im good to go!

I've used it, and it works fine... but it's not the best choice. If you're into treating your bud first class, buy something better or make your own. If you're just looking to grow a little and not really picky about the details, use it. I would suggest using about 30-40% perlite though, MGOC tends to hold water and drains poorly.

I have never found anything good in a store. I always buy some reg bags of good looking soil add and mix my own. I like to use more perlite and vermiculite. I would add some organics too like bone meal, blood meal, mushroom compost, horse/ cow manure, worm castings. But it does start costing a lot at the very least get some perlite. Also try not to buy soil with a lot of fertilizers already in it unless its organic. And don't buy soil with water crystals in it either.

Miracle grow organic is GREAT! My plants are thriving and look beautiful. Dont listen to the people that say fox farms is the only way to go, they are highly wrong. grab a bag or perlite and gardeners lime and your set. BTW Another knock on MG organic is that it has fungus gnats, 2 months in no gnats.

good call on the Lime, I forgot to mention that as well as the gnat issue. I did get gnats, and they came from the MGOC which I am 100% of. That can be taken care of by letting the soil completely dry out.
