hi there,

As you see i am a new member of this forum. I was registered in few others but when i read this forum i feel that here i can get the most help i need with my project. SO please help me and sorry for my bad english :)

Well i am starting my project this week, but first i need vents and light before i can start.

my grow box will be 60-80cm high, 60-80 width, 30-50cm deep

So i am thinking to get this pc ventilators http://www.mimovrste.com/artikel/2220015517/ventilator-za-ohisje-akasa-ak-183-l2b-120-mm, 2 for intake and 1 for outtake.

will this vents be ok? or need i better vents? because i need a sthealt box and this vents are very quiet. If you recommend anything better please tell me.

For lighting i was thinking to get the CFL 200W KIT http://www.hempatia.si/kit-200w-cfl-dual dual for veg and flowering. What you think will this cfl light cover the room? and whats with the cfl saving light bulbs?

I will use MYLAR foil

You have asked these questions looking for help but you have actually helped me alot haha cheers :P would like to see more replys for this!

Welcome to the forums pinky.. Just for your size alone i think your limited to something with minimal heat so t5ho,LEDs or as you've got above cfls all will work (I'm not sure how hid lights would go in that small area but I'm thinking too hot). That cfl would be good for your area and I think from memory they pump out around 7-8 thou lumens, you can always add another later if its not good enough. I'm not to sure about the fan but I had something similar just a bit bigger when I started out with cfls. If your building the box you need a hole down the bottom for fresh air to be drawn into your grow box and a hole or 2 up top for venting out that hot stale air. Maybe you could get a few of those fans.

To truly get into building a groom or tent you need to learn a bit about electrical work. If you are putting together your lighting from scratch (parts) do a bit a reading on how to do the electrical work and be very safe. Even a small CFL grow uses enough power to cause a fire.

I like those little fans you were looking at. Having the ability to use adapters like that makes them much easier and safer than cutting and splicing the wiring together. I would go with 6 of them. 2 intake, 2 exhaust, and 2 inside to move the air around. As I have increased the amount of light in my grow I am finding that I need to increase the amount of ventilation I have. Go big with your lights and your ventilation.

I am using nothing but the 23watt CFLs. They work very well but you need to be able to create the fixtures them.

thanks for info.

Yes sure you have to do it right, but i have studied electric. Maybe i will buy it later but for now its okey. I already spend 200€ only for light, reflector foil and thermometer without seed and soil etc.

what do you think i should grow in my room, i am thinking of auto mazar and blue mystic. Yesterday i have become my box/closet i will post a pic.

I just bought my 23watts cfls x3.The flowers love their light and they've recovered from the sunlight exposion stress.. ( stupid me :D ) . I'm planning to buy a grow tent that has already been set up from the store. It does seem everything i need, and it worths the money.I'm also planning to get an inline fan with a carbon fitler to exhaust. What else do i need to ventilate 100% ?

make sure that the vent is strong enough if you will use the carbon filter or take 2 together . Well its good if you have 1 out 2 in and 1 for mixing the air.

i see.i'll get some pc fans for that.that inline is too expensive.do you think it worths the money ?

I really like the PC fans myself.
They are cheap and easy to use. They move a good amount of air and they are relatively quiet. Not silent of course, but not bad.

I'm trying out a HVAC duct Booster fan right now for my carbon scrubber. It is louder for sure. I had a 120mm PC fan attached for a while and it did work, but I think the scrubber is just too large for it. The scrubber is about 20x40cm with 2cm of carbon. A total of 1L of carbon is in the filter. Hence the larger fan. I just haven't decided if the increased air flow is worth the added sound level.

Go with the PC fans until you can upgrade to a good inline and carbon filter/scrubber.

You should have no problems with cutting that reflector.

How/where is the light leaking? Can you post pics? Some spots are easy to fix with the alu tape, but some are harder (intake and exhaust). If it is coming thru the air intake and exhaust you may need to get 90 degree black PVC pipe or something similar. Attach them so that the light can't shine straight thru but the air still flows easily. I don't have a pic to post sorry.

You might have some difficulty with the size of that bulb. I have heard others having problems with how much they weight. When the are mounted vertically there is no problem, it is just when they are horizontal. I've never used a bub that size so I don't really know myself.

Hey.

The light is leaking by the doors and sure by the ventilators. I will post a pic tomorow. Yes the bulb is very big. I will attach it horizontal and tie one end of the bulb.
