Feel free to post your grow pics if you have managed to secure the rare Mini Gorilla Tent.

What is Mini Gorilla Tent ?
This tent is 1X1 so 1 sqft and the height is 2 ft. I have not seen them on sale and these are usually store demo tents.
Totally portable and you can carry your grow with you on the road. However i will be using it for small experiments.

I was trying to make grow light that could move up and down but the tent is too small. Lights will be fixed and plants need to be raised or lowered.

Old micro grow was too small :???:

For the mini tent. I made this light with 140mm pin heatsink however i was not happy about its 80mm height.

So i decided to go with the strips again. LUXEON XF-3535L LED Strips
This will be the side light. 5000K 1150mm long 36V 900ma 5076lumen 157 lm/w
There is also a 3000K light on top 300mm strip 10 watt

Intensity reduced so you can see individual diodes.

The tent is running 27 watts with a 500ma power supply. 36V 1150mm strip and a 18V 300ma strip. The 300mm strip is the same one i used in my micro greenhouse thread. THe heatsink was Aluminum Heatsink 300mm*25mm*12mm from ebay
The square strip on the aluminum was around 35C at 500ma. Ta 20C

At full power the strips can give about 45 watts together.

The bottle should give an idea about the size.

I am thinking of powering these strips with Meanwell LDD driver and do a PWM control with Arduino Uno.
Unlike 3 in 1 dimming with HLG drivers, the dimming with LDD DC-DC drivers may be easier.

From LDD datasheet
Power ON with dimming: DIM ~ -Vin >2.5 ~ 6VDC or open circuit
Power OFF : DIM ~ -Vin < 0.8VDC or short

May add some red/blue monos as well. Will need to add a fan for air exchange/ circulation.

I could use a couple of these to cross and produce seed. the strips look great, how much was the overall cost for the strips ?
I use the Lumileds LUXEON XF-3535L Series
L235-5770AULM5JAI0 5000K 36V 900ma $33
L235-3080AHLCBBAC0 3000K 18V 600ma $8-$12

So total cost of strips $41-$45. Currently running on $17 PLM-40-500
The 600ma strip is driven at 500ma with 300mm*25mm*12mm heatsink from ebay $5
The 900ma strip is driven 500ma with FLAT Aluminum bar heatsink 44 X 3/4 X 1/8 folded into a square $5.43
Total 27 watts at 500ma

Samsung SI-B8T113280WW 450ma 24V at digi $10.55 is about same power as Lumileds18V 600ma L235-3080AHLCBBAC0 $8-$12

I have tried Samsung SI-B8T341560WW 24.7V 1.35A $24 as well. It's more efficient Gen2 version will be SI-B8T342560WW $20

nice tent. Interesting use of a strip light. If you are looking for a 50W solution perhaps a single CXA3590, 72v 3500K 105W CoB-$48 (Digi-Key), with a 300mA Driver-$8 (fastech) https://www.fasttech.com/products/1612/10008084/1714902, on a 12 x12 heat sink- $20, (heatsinks-usa), fan pro20 $15, fan driver LDD -12/12 1W $10, for total cost under $100 plus S&H. Easy to build and easy to raise and lower and no plant to move up or down. Just hang it at the top and forget about it. mount driver remotely, outside tent, and no heat inside your tent at all. peace.

I wanted strips for more diffused light. I did not want a point source light with a Cob.
Plants can actually touch the strip and won't burn. Also I want to see how good plants grow with side light with strips. Thanks

Got the Arduino PWM working. LDD 700 giving 480ma with the code.
Tested the flashing light code as well.

Need to add some more LDD's a CO2 sensor and put all of this into a small project box. Need to figure out the ventilation too.
Then ready for experiments with light flashes, spectrum and rate of CO2 decrease with different changes.

if you can set it up with no ventilation (heat pump chiller or a closed circuit cooling\ventilation), then you can do some really cool net photosynthesis measurements with different light levels and different spectrums. cool beans

I tried a closed system in transparent box. The humidity goes up with transpiration.
trying to keep cost down so want to avoid a co2 tank. Also not sure if i can find a dehumidifier for such small space.
I was thinking of using a fan to replace air inside. When CO2 in tent and outside is same then will stop fan to have a closed system. Then monitor how fast CO2 level decrease under different light spectrum.
Let me know if you have any ideas that can help

Been thinking what Co2 sensor to get. MG-811
MH-Z16 NDIR

Here is what i am trying to make. I still need to add the co2 sensor and monos. Rest all is functional.
Co2 sensor will monitor how fast co2 is consumed by plants indicating rate of photosynthesis.
Will also add humidity sensor to see how light impacts transpiration.

Once completed this will be used to test stuff like
1) Do flashing light increase photosynthesis
2) Does adding red, deep red, photo red, blue along with white light helps drive up photosynthesis significantly
3) Does blue monos impact transpiration rate
4) any tests you can think of.
