mini clones possible?

i often see people taking clones from the third node etc, but is it possible to take a very small cutting whereby the cuttings stem is about an inch in length and it has 2 leaves?

reason i ask is because once my plant is very large i wish to take a large amount of small cuttings from it instead of taking only a few large cuttings.
