I got mine out still, they are growing kinda slow because of the low temp but I'm waiting until at least the first week of Nov.

If you can check on your plants daily, just leave them out there and check on them as often as you can, especially after temps drop to freezing. Pick them if they start to rot or are finished. They will prob die when temps are in the low thirties every night and low fifties/forties in the day. The cold temps will only hurt your buds, but if they aren't finished yet what can you do? Premature buds are worse than buds that have been exposed to some cool temps. Leave them out there and see what happens.

Mine are still out. I really want them to finish! I figure if they freeze Ill cut them and dry them. They've gone through a couple frosts and still seem to be progressing. Im starting to get nervous though! Good luck finishing Midwesterners!

im a college student looking to start a grow next spring in a nearby state of you minnesota people and i guess im curious what strains you guys use. And since i'll be at school, im wondering how much maintanence will be needed once it begins flowering seeing as i wont be around to see it every couple of days. any suggestions? autoflowering?

but after i leave i figure it will be flowering, it will be far enough from any human contact that it will be fine as long as they dont know what it is when theyre taking off the corn :p but how will that affect my yield and potency

At 06:30 this morning it was 30 degrees F. My plant was covered in heavy frost. I took off work early to harvest expecting a limp plant. When I got home at 1:00pm they looked fine, as if nothing happened. I just couldnt cut them, they need more time! I held out and there still in the ground. At least I know they can take a freeze! Good northern plant!!

assumably if you guys are still in the ground theyre all indicas? what strains have you had the most success with outdoors personally? if i dont go with the autoflower so its done while im home for summer, then im thinking AK47 or White Russian. Suggestions?

I still have my behemoth outside, but she's comin down really soon probably by Halloween. Bstiff sativa has been the easiest for me. All i did was put the seeds in the soil and......thats it lol No fert no nutes or special treatment besides a broom stick for stability. Just some organic old-fashioned cannabis lol She's 7ft tall right now :D illinois

I wish I could help you out more. Im growing bag seed, so I dont know what kind they are. From what I've read Northern Lights is good for our area. Mine appear to be a blend of India and Sativa. My best plant started flowering 8/14. Its ALMOST ready. I'm hoping for a Holloween harvest!

You guys for sure have been the most help compared to everyone else here, real down to earth people haha i really appreciate this. It will be my first grow next spring and im tyring to compile enough knowledge from online sources, but that only means so much compared to an actual person from a similar area with real life tips. what else have you guys found helps you personally?
