Temps have been Soaring from 95 to 100 - and I finally broke down and did it, Installed a portable ac today, it is starting to cool down but pretty slowly..likely still need to make some adjustments..9,000BTU...I guees it is not that slowly, it ran for an hour and went from 99 to 88 last I checked

Well temps have been 85-88F - The AC is not really helping that much, likely the cold air just gets sucked up quickly so I think I am going to put the fan on some sort of timer. The plants are not looking so great, lots of leaves are suffering necrosis and they are demanding a high ammount of water.

just went in there in their dark period, no light leaked in as both veg and flowering lights were off , I used a lighter to see...it was 80F - I stuffed a plastic bag in the flower rooms exausht so its only pulling air out of the lights in the flower room instead of the room having a big powerfull exausht we have a very very light exausht of the room and a powerfull exausht of the lights.. now with the ac I think we were pulling to much cold air out and it wasnt allowing the AC to cool the room, air can still escape thru the tarp and out the veg room exausht but no longer is coming directly out of the flower room at 700ish CFM.

Temporary fix to try to get the temps in line for now. I will make the booster fan so it blows thru the lights PUSHING AIR instead of using it for the intake of the room....

sigh...so apparently bumped the ducting knocked the light timer slightly out of socket again, I suspect when I modified the ventilation and more air started pushing thru the ducts it likely bumped it out slightly.....Causing the lights to not go on...they got 17 hours of dark in total.....

I guees the bright side is that it was....75F in there....and the AC is set to 74..... So it is doing a lot better as far as temps just with that little plastic bag modificaiton - this could be attributed to the lights being off for 17 hours and the fact it was a bit colder then usual today, about 75F outside..lets hope its not

Ok well a lot has happened - we gutted the shelves and the wood structure in the back of the flowering room so we have a lot more space now - we now have a 600W and a 1000W HPS running in aircooled hoods, the whole space is now filled with light, not any spot in the room is more than 2 to 3 meters from a light.

The plants now have pretty good size buds all over and the colas are coming in - the vanilla kush is starting to get a little more colorful as it ripens.

I bent the Lemon Skunk backwards from the way it was leaning and tied the main cola down to a steak that one of the other sweet tooth is streaked to, exposing most of its buds near the light...It is about 8ft tall now before I did this.

I have been running PH runoff test and it is at about 5.8 on average - not to good for soil, last feeding I added PH UP to the nutrient solution to add another 1 point and I was lowering the PH of my plain watering with Super thrive but I will cease to do this so they will get straight R.O. Water. Hopefully can kick the PH Up a notch with these new practices.

I finally went in and trimmed up the sweet tooth removing all dead material that could come off with a gentle tug from the necrosis they suffered back during the heat wave...they appear to have loved me for doing this and I improved overall airflow of the room. I should have done this sooner.

My next grow journal will be Nirvana seeds - Blue Mystic, NL, and Auora Indica - for my next grow I will be doing things a lot more organically using a soil mix like subcools supersoil and transplanting when they need food. I will be using earth worm castings and guano teas occasionally in addition to the soil. So yeah not going into DWC world soon like I thought I would be because this organic grow is all lined up right now.

A few of the many major mistakes I made on my first grow: Vegged to long, Fed to little, Did not train or top enough, Pruined the sweet tooth to late, went for long periods with insufficient light, to much heat the majority of the time, to much cold at times. The stability of this whole grow has been in crisis many times throughout due to construction of the room, The mistakes I made are likely going to effect my yield greatly. I learned a lot and the learning still continues, Next run will be 100 times more successful.

For all you new growers out there one important lesson I learned: You can read all the books and material online..watch all the movies you want about growing..I researched for 6 months before doing this project a good 8 hours a day...The fact is you don't know what to expect or have no idea of the many lessons that you will learn from your first grow.

Well should be some pics tonite...Its flush time for miz vanilla kush...My buddy came over and checked it out...he has grown outdoors for over 20 years and is very good so I respect his opinion generally but he thinks its ready to go now he says dont worry about flushing but I am just gunna flush 7 days and harvest next tuesday...

It is maybe only 10% orange hairs..Might possibly go out an get a microscope for tonite...she does have sort of a golden tinge on a lot of the shade leaves letting me know there is amber trichs present...very very frosty..and her finishing scent is very strong kushy scent, 'smells like the compassion club' was my first reaction..I want lots of amber this one is for me.

today is something like day 47 or 48 for her, not sure off the top of my head the exact date..Amazingly fast budding strain here like I said...I could of harvested on day 45 I bet...one of my friend has the only clone I hope it lived.

Btw I added molasses to my arsenal about a week ago...made a big difference already..All buds on every plant fatened up noticeably within 36 hours of starting them on molasses...The younger plants love it also, good sized buds on the white russian and the rocklock who remain very very green and healthy...My approach with the next generation was much better and to be honest I cant wait to get these ugly sweet tooth plants out of here and especially the giant lemon skunk which is now tied in so many places it snakes around the whole garden.

After the update tonite I will do a harvest update on the vanilla kush....than I will be glad to answer any questions but I will be moving on to a new growlog project which will be less of me ranting and raving and straight up high resolution pictures focusing on the life of one individual plant in my room. It was a fun ride and I would like to conclude this growlog soon because its a mess frankly and my growing enters a new era now that my room is dialed in...I deem this growlog...the construction of my weed machine and the rants of its mad scientist - four months and nearly $10,000 later here we are.

Day 57 of bloom for vk - harvested main cola of VK as it was done, doing partial harvest, weight 60G WET POST TRIM + roughly 1 ounce ounce of frosty wet trim for butter, MY friend has pics its a little bigger than a coke can - ill get the pics from him later and do an update - maybe a bit early in some peoples opinion but we need smoke its been 4 long months and I was advised by quite a few experts to harvest the top I would really like to hear everyones opinion when I get the pics on - 15% Amber Trichs, 30% orange hairs, all calyx swollen, difficult trimming with all the leaves. 95% of hairs receded into the buds, my first bud harvested I cant stop smiling - also quick dryed a small clipping of a bud in the vape that I accidentally cut off while trimming and let me just say it taste really good but I was to high already to tell the potency, It taste a little bit sweet, I fed her mollases 1 hour b4 choping hoping it would make it a little bit sweet and it seems to have worked.

btw that is the weight with the stalk, which is pretty thick, like a pencil

after 5 days dry it is really nice smoke tested a bowl...hang dryed 3 days, 2 days in paper bag, now going back and forth between jar and paperbag, very harsh obviously cause it hasnt fully dried yet but the nugs look pretty good, very sticky with lots of hairs and dense. Very heady buzz to it right now, the rest of the plants going to go 2-3 more weeks including the vk..tried to roll a joint of it and it wont stay lit, not dry enough for a joint yet.

When it is in paperbag temp is 80F and humidity 50%-60%
Initial Hang dry it was 70F 55% Humidity
In the jar spot it is 70F 50% Humidity

so overall its a slow dry but hopefully not to slow - without the stems and fully manicured it was 14G before we smoked the bowl today...Now the rest goes into the jar neatly labeled: Vanilla Kush - Hybrid cross of Kashmir and Afghan Kush 2009 Cannabis Cup Winner. I will leave the jar sealed for about 6 hours than go to 6-12 hours back in paper bag and than we will see from there what it needs.

The VK plant buds have fatened up a lot and the large majority of the hairs are orange now (80% or so) - The old side branches look like they are going to fatten up to the size of this cola now that they are exposed directly to the light it seems like they are acting as the new tops. We expect this plant to yield dry 3-4 ounces total if given the planned two more weeks.

The rest of the plants aside from the lemon skunk, the buds have begin to swell but there is still all white hairs, It is expected that each plant will yield anywhere from 3-6 ounces at this point. It seems as if the lemon skunk could yield nearly a half pound.. They all have at the least 2 more weeks, except Lemon skunk and bagseed look more like 3 to 4 more weeks

my way of slow dry is this ...

cut off major fan leaves>hang for 3 days (whole)>chop off into buds and do a quick trim of small leaf>put into laundry bags (those mesh ones from the dollar store) i put about a qp per bag so its almost full>hang the bags in the dark air conditioned room around 70 degrees, this takes like week to finish the dry from here and even then the stems are still mostly snappy partly bendy but a good cure fixes that. so this way allows them to dry for ten or more days and then just a week cure and your good to go.

Well the cure is getting it better and better, I can roll dubies now no problemo, regardless I did a smoke report here: https://www.rollitup.org/smoke-reports/360341-vanilla-kush-smoke-report-self.html

So far the VK has produced 27 grams, It is still going about a foot of plant left, each time we cut a portion off the next buds just get bigger and more mature.

The rest of the plants are still growing buds quite a bit the buds are still maturing almost all white hairs still fattening up, I will have pics soon my patient tooks some pics just waiting on him to send them. It is going into week 10 now...so yeah basically all these plants are gunna be atleast 12 week run for me this time..the younger next generation which are more indicia I believe are actually nearly caught up.

The sweet tooth I definitly overfed and I am doing the feed a lot better this next generation it is way more healthy and happy. The buds are going to be much bigger on rocklock, wembley, white russian.

also kind switched up my drying method with this next handfull of buds it has been just in paperbag in my flower room for 4-5 days and now the stems started to snap in most places so tommorow I will throw em in the jar - glad I am getting to expiriment with drying methods right now b4 the big sativa harvest..thanks for the idea rzza
