I just went to purchase on Midweek and when I got to checkout there is a $12.50 shipping and handling even though I selected "buyer accepts responsibility". Stopped me in my tracks. I bought from ace, bonza and sannie very recently. None of them did that type of shit.

It's a lame fucking practice to slap a charge after all your shit is entered. By lame I mean slimy and fucked up.

So you didn't want to pay for shipping? I agree it's kind of odd they don't state the price of shipping upfront, but I thought it was normal for the buyer to pay shipping...

I'll get the IT guys on the case this week so shipping is quoted earlier on in the transaction however when you selected buyer accepts responsibility that's for the insurance on the product. As @GuyLeDuche mentioned you normally have to pay for shipping on products with every company. Well unless you decide to spend $200+ with us.

I've checked out one of the website you have quoted and they make it a lot clearer so we'll do something about that.

Just to keep it 100% real
NONE of the folks i mentioned have a "handling charge"
at bonza there in NO CHARGE for shipping (untracked)]
at Sannie it's $5 with stealth (untracked)
at Ace it's $3.85 (untracked)

(for similar value order)

So I wasnt looking for free shipping but shippng that is more than 2x higher than competitors did not compute.

Hi @testiclees,

We don't have any handling fee's the fee's you're talking about are the shipping fees we charge. We wouldn't send anything untracked as around 70% of our emails are customers asking where their orders are located at the moment so without being able to give them any information it would be a nightmare for the guys.

If it works for the other guys then perfect but we prefer it if the customer is able to use USPS to track all parcels.

I will ask the IT guys to make it so the shipping charges are shown earlier on in the checkout process though as I do agree no one wants to get extra charges at the end of a checkout process.

As always if anyone else has anything else that they think would improve the website we're always open to suggestions!

I just wanted to add how happy I am with ordering from Midweek Song. I've been ordering seeds longer than most of you guys (I was ordering seeds from Nevils "The Seed Bank" in the 80's and everyone else since then) and have place two orders with these guys. The prices I've gotten are cheaper than anywhere else if you use the roll20 discount and Lewis has responded VERY quickly to all emails I've sent with questions. Orders came quick, loads of freebies, well packaged in a tin, seeds are fresh, and no signature necessary!!!

Herbies, Attitude, Sannies.......bye bye! Well, maybe not Sannies, but the others for sure!

Just my 2 cents.......

The phrase on the "pay now" page says this exactly "Shipping & Handling $12.56" OK so your statement was "We don't have any handling fee's". Cmon now son.

As far as "the guys" and their tracking well to each his own. But you you can't claim it costs anything like 12.50 to track a greeting card sized package. To me it's just nickel and diming.

The promo code isn't working. Why should customers have to write to Midweek to use their promotion. It's called a promotion. That means it is promoted. Maybe you could clear that up as well Lewis.

Wow dude, chill out. Shit happens, maybe the promotion ended. It's free shipping on all orders over $200, but if you want the order guaranteed delivery, it's another $11+ for the guarantee. When you guarantee it, the order is placed in a tin or other device to increase the safety and a different kind of envelope. Regular shipments are not guaranteed- if they don't arrive, they won't reship them.

Pretty simple if you ask me......be nice to Lewis, he's a really good guy and will go out of his way to help you out. Give him a chance to respond, he will explain it better for you.

No insurance (Buyer Accepts Responsibility) $0.00 means that the parcel is sent tracked, if it says delivered on USPS and you say you haven't got the parcel then we won't resend the package.

The $12.50 is the amount Royal Mail charge us to send a parcel to the US tracked. If Royal Mail decide to drop their prices with us then fantastic we will pass that saving onto you guys however at the moment it stands at this amount.

As for the discount code I've attached a screen shot that i've done with the code working so hopefully it should work for you. Customers don't have to write to us to use a promotion but like everything in life sometimes we have issues that we only know about when people tell us. I wish it could be perfect all the time but unfortunately with the amount we change it, problems do occur occasionally. Luckily we have a good customer base who understands that things like this can happen occasionally, they let us know and we sort it ASAP.

Lewis, Ah the coupon does now work. Good Job. I placed an order. With the code it is a good deal. I had a lil hangup w my cc but i think it's cool


These suggestions will help avoid confusion with visitors to Midweek Song website:

If you dont charge for handling you should remove the phrase "handling charge" it's confusing.
If you offer 0.00 shipping then their shouldn't be a charge that says "shipping and handling" after 0, .00 shipping is selected.
If you dont offer 0.00 shipping remove the option for 0.00 shipping.
Double check whether it costs 12.50 to send royal mail tracked packages.@ Royal Mail website I'm reading: International Tracked & Signed £6.00.

Just received confirmation and tracking info email from MWS. Great service as always, 1 business day to process and ship order. Now comes the hard part of waiting for the beans to arrive.
