I found this thing at work...it was all alone in the corner ballin' out of control, so I had to go over and chill it the fack out.bongsmilie
boxfound.jpg

As you can clearly see I put some super, awesome, state of the art, kick ass power bars inside to use some seriously, seriously wicked 26w and/or 42w cfls in there...also had the craziest pc fan ever for exhaust. The white, insulated, bubblewrap stuff was laying around too...might not have as much swag as mylar, but it's pretty hardcore. So I threw that shit in there too!
boxhalfmade.jpg
There's more to this one, but it went shitty on me..so I'm not even going to waste my time on the story. The 42w were to big and I couldn't ball hard enough to make it work. Straight up caught slippin'. I DECLARE THAT I WILL USE CFLS NO MORE!!!

Here's a spicy little slut I picked up not long ago...cost me about 60$ with shipping. (100w hps ballast with built in ignitor, e26 socket, 100w hps bulb, and shipping = 60$)
100whps.jpg

I ripped those power bars out by their fuckin' ground wires, cause that's how I roll when shit gets under my skin and tries to fuck around...

Starting again from scratch...kinda.
Gonna get my swag level way up there with this muh-fuhka.

Quick breakdown for all you slobs out there!

lights
-100w hps bulb
-100w hps ballast w/ built-in ignitor
-e26 mogul socket

ventilation
-dollarstore picture frame (need the glass pane to keep bulb heat up by the exhaust)...don't think cause it's dollarstore that I'm not a playa, hustla, balla and shiat
- 120 mm pc fans NOT IN PHOTO (I ordered 2...cfm was about 65 and 1200 rpm roughly...im just going by memory)

odour control
- black pantyhose ( I once heard someone on here say that a good hobby should always include pantyhose...so I'm gonna rock them shits)
-2 containers of carbon
- 2 slurpee cups NOT IN PICTURE (these are easy to come by...even in the middle of winter -40 weather...cause ballin doesnt freeze no matter how cool you get!!! risk of swag freeze)

gonna use the pc fans, slurpee cups and carbon to rig up a carbon filter with the exhaust.

grow medium
-dwc container (not sure how much nute solution the protien powder jug can hold, but it's more than 2 gallons, it's black to help stop light penetration)...thats right mofos..protein powder..as in I push fuckin weights all day..god damn huge mang..rip heads of necks and all this!!!
- dual action air pump with 2 airstones...fuckin dual action...haters gonn hate
- 3" net pot..what!
- lil yellow bucket of nutes, meters, odds/ends, epsom, ph, blah, blah, blah

random stuff
- multi head screwdriver
- steel straping
- double sticky sided velcro tape
- little bag of some small-medium screws and other handy hardware things I was to cheap to buy and my work had in the bottom of a box in the back of a closet....BALLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!bongsmilie

Here we go slobs...get ready for da ridiculousness!!!!...kinda..lol.

DSC00331.jpg
I used some metal things that are used to fasten wires to walls to hold my glass pane up from my dollarstore picture frame. the light will go in front of the fan and above the glass to keep the heat up and above and on its shitty way out....lol.
So ballin I dont even know what those little metal thing be...can you smell the goddamn swag up in hea!!!!

i fastened the socket to a 5" piece of the metal strapping so I can mount my light where I want it...cause I'm tha boss up in this bitch..gotta keep that shit tight!!! close to my heart!!!!!

In all seriousness though...this metal strapping is the best stuff ever...I swear by it...should be in every growers tool box, it's like 3.99 for a 10 foot roll. I hung my 120lbs fan and filter combo from a crossbeam in a basement with no worries ever!!

DSC00337.jpg

close up of the highest level of swag you will possibly ever see!!!!

DSC00336.jpg

this is where I rest for a few days and gather materials for my front...thats where i'll use the velcro and stuff to keep a nice seal. not quite balling yet, but the swag level is on the rise.

DSC00338.jpg

hopefully i can get some updates happening in the next week.

Primo box for a micro grow, what a score! You decided on what strain you growing yet, or are you still getting the box ready?

Peace bongsmilie

I have accumulated a few seeds over the last year or so..only a few that were actually bought.
Nirvana - White Rhino
World Of Seeds - Afghan kush
Purple Kush Bagseed
Bubba Kush bagseed
outdoor auto seeds from a friends outdoor last year
and some auto seeds that i made using a colloidal silver solution

going to be doing one plant, dwc, topped, lst and/or possibly scrogged (i have chicken wire cut out into a square with some electrical tape around the edges so it doesnt get caught on everything).
with the topped portion of the plant i'm hoping to clone it and maybe have a mother in the windowsill....it might be lanky from lack of direct sunlight but as long as it grows fresh tips, I'm all good.....once a clone is cut and rooted and put under the 100w it will stiffen up and decrease stretching between nodes.

once the dwc is finished i might switch it up and try a SOG using 710ml bottles...9 of them to be exact, and try to do a perpetual harvest type deal...9 is probably overkill and 1 plant is more than likely going to be enough to fill this thing to capacity, but I dont want to wait so long with vegging and training, blah, blah, blah....12/12 from the get-go would be preferred but may be not be possible.

I want to get a nice kush strain or something that is either indica dominant or straight indica.

I love the knockout strains..or ones that have a super heavy stone...not even sure what strain is like that though...black domina I heard is quite potent...but thats why I like to do long flower times too..let the trichs get nice and amber.

But, yea...thanks for checking in. Hoping to get this thing going pretty soon. Will update as I go.

back at work today...was looking for something that will act as a front/door fro my cab. I already have the heavy duty double sticky sided velcro strip at home. I was thinking of just using white cardboard that that I can cut and fold into a door with an overlapping light seal and secure it to the box using the velcro. well....I have looked around and found something better.....it's a white, hard plastic (texture of corrugated cardboard..kinda) with styrofoam in the middle..about 1/4 inch thick. it was used at a trade show like 30 years ago..lol...it's in the pile of stuff labelled 'shit for the trash'...so i assume it's up for grabs..lol.
It's pretty rigid and reflective so i figure I could just cut it out to the size of my box and secure it with a bit of velcro. heres what it looks like:

gonna bring this thing home and put it to work instead of in the trash.

reduce, reuse, recycle, re-purpose..all day, er day!!

Picture 001.jpg here is one of the two pc fans that came in. 50cfm 25 bdl

Picture 002.jpgdc adapter (both 120mm pc fans will be connected to this),120mm pc fan, scented dryer sheet, 5" x 5" x 7" cardboard box, blue piece in the box is just to angle (45') the airflow. the box itself is sealed tight on the outside with clear packing tape and shrink wrap.

Picture 003.jpghere it is about to go on. pc fan #1 is glued to the cab, pc fan #2 is placed snugly in the top of the cardboard box facing upwards with the dryer sheet running over the top of the pc fan and wedged between the fan and the box...it's really snug. and again the blue piece at a 45 degree angle to point the air in the right direction (up to the next pc fan). I've heard these pc fans lose a lot of pressure when anything restricts airflow, so I tried to make it as smooth of a transition as possible. Blowing at a flat back of a box didnt make sense to me, so the blue piece.

Picture 006.jpghere it is glued on. you can see the dryer sheet over the pc fan...this will hold my carbon. I haven't put any carbon in yet cause I'm still working on it...and will more than likely wait till flower to add it.

Awesome cab! I was just thinking about doing the same cardboard carbon filter thing for my new cab! What is that white sheet between the fan and the carbon?

It's a scented dryer sheet...it lets air pass super easily and will also keep the carbon from falling into the fan. I recently heard of these Gonzo odor removers or whatever. apparently they work, so I might stock up on those too..just to be safe.

Thanks for checking it out!! Hope to fill it soon. Either a single plant dwc lst/scrog/mainline or a 9 x 710 ml bottle hempy bucket SoG and harvest 1 a week...with the sog method i would need a shoebox or something with a 26w cfl to leep mothers and clones. I just need to find the right strain.

Oh yeah I've been using those before and it covered the smell, but mine didn't allow too much airflow through it so I had to punch holes in it. I've seen that Gonzo thing as well but I can't get it in my country.

I'm doing one "bigger" plant in a Speaker box and a 700-1000 ml bottle SOG in a PC Case. I think you would harvest more from 1 bigger plant, but you will also have to wait for each harvest... :-s That's why I'm doing both. :bigjoint:

Wow ultimate swag on the glass pane underneath the light (heat source), with the light aligned perpendicularly away from the exhaust fans center. I have a similar set up goin on now myself size-wise to yours. Brilliant idea brah, all that heat should stay flowing right on out the micro-environment. Grow on homie

OrganicEcoGrow,
what are the specs on your fans? cfm, rpm, dbls?
mine are 50cfm, 1200rpm, 25 dbls.
what are you using for odor control?

4 CPU fans, each fan 120*120*25mm size, 44.73CFM, 1200RPM, 19.1 dB-A, 1.80Watts. They are "Cooler Master Silent Fan 120 S12" cpu fans, picked up on Amazon. For odor control, relying on diffusion & a total of five fans through vegetative stage. I attached 2 cpu fans for exhaust at the top of the cab and 2 cpu fans for intake at the bottom of the cab, plus 1 cheap "flippi v6" ~7w fan to push cooler air straight up from the bottom. Currently 5 lights, one 30w, 3500k, 2100 lumen CFL bulb in a clamp reflector above the other lights, two 23w, 6500k, 1450 lumen CFL's, & two 14w, 5000k, 850 lumen CFL's. 30 days into veg, 1 Alpha Chronic Beika strain from seaofseeds, using LST and have fimmed twice. There are a couple citrus, pomegranate, & basil seedlings too. 2.5 gallon container. This is first ever indoor grow, only 1 small plant outdoors last season, so this is all new to me and exciting (and difficult on occasion). I throw a dark blue bed-sheet over the cab to keep the light from leaking. Hope some of this info helps out - here are some pics: IMG_1583.jpgIMG_1516.jpg

hey hey!! Been super busy the last couple weeks, but we are up and running. I popped 4 white rhino seeds reg from Nirvana...all four sprouted and got planted, but only two survived. I always wondered how people could kill a plant that's already going, like a healthy little sprout. but growing in a box, in closet with a bunch of stuff in it, is tricky. Can't exactly walk in every 30 minutes like when using a basement...gotta move everything and all this. blah..so two died, top of the soil dried out before taproot could draw down toward remaining moisture..I'm hoping to get a couple clones from a friend, but for now, here we go. 12/12 as soon as they went in. they sprouted 24 hours after going into the paper towel, and couldnt plant for a few days, so they chilled and got longer tap roots..then I was finally able to put them into 32oz slurpee cups. so ya..4 days in soil and under the 100w hps. not much happening at the moment.

Avrum was right though..the dryer sheets just dont let enough air escape with these dinky pc fans. I'm not expecting any smell for a little while so I can get one those gonzo things for the meantime.

also..i have noticed that when you buy a ballast without the housing unit and use it..the ballast itself gets HOT AS FUCK!!!! so please be fucking careful with these things. luckily i had it mounted on a side that was away from the wall and nothing was touching it (sleeve of a shirt or something). probably wouldnt have done anything, but who knows. I feel like an idiot for being so ignorant. little tip anyway.
