Micro CFL Scrog

Hi, I just registered at the site, it has been helpful in giving me information...so I decided to post up my grow. All I am using is a rubbermaid sitting long way so that I have enough headroom for a small scrog. Hopefully with some root control and other stuff it won't get too high for the box. Ive got a 120mm exhaust fan at the top to vent the heat from the CFLs, aswell as a 120mm and 90mm intake fans. Im using 3 23w CFLs and 1 65w CFL all 2700k. Any advice is welcome, especially from people who have grown in small spaces like this before.

The seed is about 6 days old I think. I will be changing the pot once it gets a bit bigger since this one is slightly transparent.

sounds like you have the cooling, lighting and exhaust part thought out.How long(tall) is the tub you are using. I'd look into topping the plants as they reach there 4th node, and then go with more of a side side to help your height issue you may have. What strain are you using? What light schedule are you on? What nutes are you going to use after week 4 or 5? Doyou have you next pot ready/ The root and root care are very important in the Veg cycle.Let us know keep up the good work!

Thanks for the link kriznarf.

Unsure of strain, just some bagseed I saved from some bomb weed I got in texas about a year ago. Lights are on 18/6 at the moment, I am going to be using fish emulsion and compost tea for veg, then i'm thinking of mixing up my own bloom nutes with some potassium nitrate (13-0-44) and worm castings for extra nitrogen...unsure of what i will use for the phosphate at the moment, next time I go to the store ill look for something and the next pot will probably be a butter tub or something.

From the lights to the top of the scrog net is about 6 1/2 - 7 inches and about 10 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches deep...from the floor where the pot will be to the scrog net is about 6 1/2 - 7 inches, i'm thinking i might need to move the net down to get more headroom.

Alright here are some pictures at day 9, beginning of the second week. The ebriotic leaves where yellow so I added a bit of fish emulsion yesterday, and it seems to have grown quite a bit over night, the third set of true leaves are already starting to come out. I am thinking I may need to transplant soon.

Alright, I transplanted her into a bigger pot, here are a few pics. Also any advice on when I should switch to 12/12? I don't want her to outgrow the box.

I wouldn't flip to 12/12 anytime soon if you can avoid it. Give her three weeks before you flip if you can. Best to drill some holes into your new pot and begin to LST her when she's a bit taller. Also, go easy with your fish emulsion/nute solutions early on. The soil already has a fair amount of nutrients (unless that's coco you're in) and it's easy to nute-burn a small plant. Depending on the soil, many growers/guides recommend not adding nutes until the second or third week and even then to go easy on them.

Yeah, it said 3tbs per gallon but i put in like a teaspoon, im not sure what the soil is, i know it has coco in it, but it also has mulch and builders sand...something I got from the garden center up the road. The pot has around 8 holes in the bottom.

Im pretty impressed on the tightness the nodes are growing, ive grown some outdoor plants that had nodes farther apart than this at the same age, I have a feeling it will be a short bushy plant, which is perfect for the space im growing in. Also, do you think I have enough space between the lights and the scrog net, or should i drop the net down a bit?

Heres a few more pics from today.

Hard to tell how much distance there is between the screen and lights from your first post. My guess is that the screen should be lowered a bit.
