I was wondering whether the use of a MH instead of HPS for the first 2 weeks of flowering would reduce the initial stretch due to flowering. Anyone ever tried this? Would it have a negative effect on yield?
it may help just a tiny bit, but having the light off for 12 hours is going to cause the plant to grow taller either way. but it would be a good experiment. let us know how it turns out
I flowered for about 3 weeks with a 400w MH 6500k before switching to a 3000k bulb. There was still some stretch but nothing that drastic. The smaller branches seemed to benefit the most.
