Well...i do not post this to discuss about the abundance of my stupidity from time to time.

The question is, is the bulb done, or....?

Are you all right?

If there's no cracks in the glass I don't see a problem, just clean the bulb.

It's fine, just clean it. I had a really bad ass rick n morty hoodie that was made of synthetic. I bumped one of my vertical bulbs and shit melted all over the bulb. I let it cool and cleaned the bulb and it's still going strong. The hoodie not so much lol.

Use a fresh razor blade to clean the outer envelope. Then use a solvent degreaser on the whole envelope. You should be fine.

Like @cannabineer said. Not a problem. I broke the outer glass on an MH bulb and ran it anyway and had no problems. Just took better care to protect my eyes and skin from the extra UV. The outer glass is just for protection and does not affect the usability of the bulb unless it's so dirty light can't get thru. lol

When we were kids, we used to shoot the HPS street lights with our slingshots and were constantly amazed at how hard it was to break them! First the outer plastic shell, then the protective glass, but if you didn't hit the element, they would just keep burning bright. Yes, we were proper little bastards in those days.
