I keep getting the same problems grow after grow.. im just planting 2 plants at a time and fartin around right now. anyways heres my info:

  • Soil grown
  • Water every 2-3 days with tap water that has been sitting out for a few days to evaporate the chlorine.
  • 250w HPS, with 6 CFL's (4 flowering - 2 Veg)
  • Constant temp of 80*
  • a pinch of Schultz bloom builder

The pictures say most, but one thing I've noticed is that the leaves are very dry and fragile.
Also, the dots start randomly.. those pictures are slightly misleading it doesn't always start right at the tips.. only about 90% of the time

    Thanks in advance!

how big are your pot ? do it have good drain holes ? what kind of soil are you in ?

if it keep comming agin .. you must have a problem some wher in your set up .. light and temps seems fine ..

if you belive its MG get some Epsom salt from the local wellness shop .. its cheap and cant do no harm if you keep the ammount down ..

a table spoon in a cup of boiling water and then add it to 2 gallon of water .. see if you notice a diffrent .. can be done agin a few weeks later if you notice problems agin ..

Epsom slat is Magnesium sulfat and have been used since last century to help plant grow etc .. also nice in a foot bath :D

but if you use tab water ther schould be a ammount of MG in it .. maybe check your local water plants home page and see what your water exatly contains ..

I see a calcium def for one, the little rust spot stuff. it could be ph is off locking it out, or just not enough in it, but using tap water should cover cal and mag.... the purple may just be genetic. My qrazy train leaves look alot like that minus the spots.

trust me those spots are calcium. I have a plant that needs extra extra cal and if not it gets those spots

and in reply to Slipon:

Its a big plastic storage tub, with wholes in the bottom for drainage, but also medium sized rocks to make sure it drains.

The soil i use is just a wal mart brand multi-purpose soil. i added perlite to it

yep .. cal/MG def. often shows in crispy curl leaves .. that just dont look healthy/normal ..

I had it on a early grow on one plant specialy .. the table spoon of Epsom salt did take care of that ..

if your in normal potting soil (good move with the perlit) you might want to check your soil PH .. might want to get that Dolomit lime after all .. boath calium and a PH buffer if PH is low ..

boath Epsom salt and lime is cheap products .. I bet 20$ can get em boath .. walmart might have the lime ? epsom slat is mostly sold in wellness shops and drug stores aso.

Check your water supply for CHLORAMINE. Chloramine does NOT evaporate. 60% of municipal water supplies use Chloramine now. Even a few ppm will cause failed root growth, nutrient lockout, hermaphrodites (its a hormone disruptor). Check your water quality report, I guaranatee you its in there. RO does not remove it. UV light/ filters do. Also, API tap water conditioner from the pet store removes it. Get the chloramine out of like 20 gallons and flush the shit out of the plant. Wait a few days for new root growth. Water with root innoculant (ZHO, zquashield) and a little molasses. than start LIGHT feeding, like 50-100 ppm. Work your way up. Good luck.

Thought I'd check my water report for my city and its the worst water in the nation...that sucks not drinking water out of the tap anymore or feed my plants that....for now on rain water or store bought.
