Medical pot in Canada, possible legal problems?

Hey guys, im from BC Canada.
I recently visited a local compassion club and met with the owner, who confirmed that I am eligible to join their club upon showing doctor documents confirming my injury history.
I'd like to make clear that the doctor is NOT prescribing this for me, I am simply being allowed to join the club and purchase their medical bud.
A friend said that there is a possibility you won't be allowed into USA after registering for medical marijuana...
is this true? or is the law simply not to BRING the medical weed with you?
anyone aware of Canadian laws and border laws, able to clear this up for me?

I really doubt you'd get in trouble for just having it. But since the United States federally is against medical marijuana, if its found on you, they probably won't let you in until you get rid of it. Thats if they even find it though. Maybe you should take a close look at your car and see where you can hide it. Best places are above and not below. But in a border situation, if the dog alerts, they're gonna tear your car apart and leave it that way (so I'm told)

I have no intentions of trying to bring it across the border lol.
I was just concerned of receiving a "no-entry" status?

Sounds to me like that compassion club would be illegally supplying you with marijuana if you weren't registered with MMAR.

Also, I have heard nothing regarding issues traveling to the US due to being an MMJ patient.

Yea, sorry I left that part out. You won't be black listed just because your a MMJ patient. But they won't let you in with it even if you are a patient in Canada just because its illegal in the US federally. But if you try, and they catch you, if you have your papers/license, they'll probably just tell you to get rid of it and let you cross
