How much $$ and time do you have? That will tell you if you can do a grow for some medicine. Let us know. People at RIU are here to help!

It's really not that expensive to grow it, all depends on your situation, do u have a room, need a tent etc...

I'm not a caregiver yet, but am up and growing send me a PM, we can chat, I am heading that way.

Also, you don't need tons of $$$, you can start with CFL's.

Hi Jackson
Welcome to Our Maine forum. Do you guys have your certification?
I am also new here and these guys are people who will watch your back and help you start things out the right way.
I am working on perfecting a grow cabinet system that is easy to make and operate.
I will be posting a tutorial on my setup. It really is easy to make and so far i am getting good results with cfl's.
Please keep us posted on your success. I found a post about DWC (Deep Water Culture) growing i am currently studying.
I have not gotten the success i hoped for with soil and from what i've heard, this is very successful for growing.
Basically it takes a 5 gallon bucket, a fish tank aerator, nutrients and hangs a plants roots into the concoction.
From what i,ve seen the oxygenated water really makes the plants thrive amazingly.
There are tutorials on this process if you're interested in it. Don't be afraid to ask for help.:weed:

Calvin, have you looked into SIPers (Self Irrigated Container)? I am currently running 2 different ones with an organic soil, its awesome, I just add water, rotate the plant, and watch her grow.

Some say SIPers are soils answer to Hydro.

Peace

Hey Sharky,
I have not heard of those, no. Is it all in one container, or does it share a common H2O supply?
I am trying to work out a system of hooking pvc into a a multi container system that can be unbolted and changed to different places or add plants to the existing configuration without disturbing the main H2O reservoir.
Kinda like putting and pulling plants where and when you want to change them, but keeping the DWC infrastructure in place.
I'll explain more when i perfect it more.
I would like to hear more about the SIPs though.

I'm over at Grasscity,

one of my threads with a little info, http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-marijuana-growing/1135124-s-i-p-ahhs.html

check that out.

Basically, plant wicks up the water, and is able to drip excess back out, I'm still very green at growing, but so far they are awesome, I am having great success with these and my homemade organic soil

Hey Sharky,
BTW Love the Avatar. XD XD XD
I setup a sip'er yesterday. One thing i would add is an aquarium pump. From what i've been reading the extra O2 really makes them take off.
I used a 3-4 gal kitty litter container(rectangular shaped) Covered with a piece of plastic cardboard. I cut a hole in it for a 5x5 square plastic pot to set into.
Then i made extra holes in the pot for the roots to dangle from. Then i pierced a small hole to fit the aquarium tubing down into the bath with an air stone on the end.
I'll let you know what happens. BTW i am also very new to growing. I have lotza plants but don't even know whats Male or female yet.

Awesome, let me know how it goes. I have heard about air pump, but at this point not worried about that yet. If you got any photos, I would love to add it to my thread over on grasscity. ?are you using soil?

Are you concerned that the bottom is always under water, with mine there is only a portion of the bottom that is in water, the rest has holes so it can drip ant excess water that it has. I do like the air, that definitely has to be helpful. Keep us posted please, and thanks for sharing.

Peace

Hi Sharky,
I guess the theory behind this is the plant will allow roots to droop down into the water, and then waters itself.
after the roots are hanging in the bath the water level is reduced below the pot.
So far this is really working well. I just looked at the pics i posted and the plant has noticeably grow stronger.
