Have you ever read anything by Jeremy Rifkin? His books deal with a lot of the same subject matter. I read his book The End of Work about fifteen years ago in college. It dealt with a lot of the stuff that is going on today. He has a new one out called the Zero Marginal Cost Society. I haven't read it yet. It is somewhere between amazon and my house.

Looks like an interesting work. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check out the E-book sample.

There are more connections in one cubic centimeter of brain tissue than there are stars in our galaxy.

There are more stars in our galaxy than there are grains of sand on all the beaches of earth.

That's a bunch of frickin' wires coming out of that dudes head.

Consciousness whether it is AI or not is still consciousness?

It would not have the bias or flaws of human consciousness.

No, it would have a while new bunch we wouldn't have any clue about until they manifested themselves.

Let's see. Automation has replaced people? Many in my 40 years as an Electronic Maintenance Eng. As I type we are producing more with much less humans needed. Including maintenance. On lunch now. Electronics is much more reliable as well as mechanics. 3d printing metal compressor blades for jet engines is now being done here. YouTube search 3d printed jet engine. Less people will be needed in the future in manufacturing. I'm old. Glad.
