Measuring dry gallons??

I have buckets labeled 5 gallons but I think that is for liquid gallons.

Is there any difference between that and dry gallons as far as volume goes?

Not that I am aware of. It's a measure of volume....whether that be water or soil.

i agree, gallon is volume, while ounces can be weight or volume.

Does look like there is a distinction between the 2. Conversion chart shows 1 dry gal = .85937 liquid gallons. Makes no difference to me tho! Same in my mind.
