I grew Brainstorm Feminized last season (2008) and it was a great plant considering its on the lower end of the seed price scale. Germination was a breeze and the veg period was a delight as they all gew uniform and sturdy before they were set outside. If given a good location to grow these things can get pretty huge. I had two plants that were about 6ft tall and the rest were about 5ft on average. I grew them in a mix of ProMix and topsoil and used a 3 phase outdoor fertiilizer called "Mamoth" by Advanced Nutrients. Theres alot of branching on this strain and it responds well to LST. Flowering was slow comming and I never was able to finish them fully here in Ontario, Canada. I find websites vary with the flowering time reported on this particular strain, some say 8 weeks, some say 11. Mine started flowering in August and when I harvested in late October they still had about 2 weeks left to go. I had to harvest them because Brainstorm is not very mold resistant and thus the longer I waited the more I lost to bud rot. We had a nearly perfect season for growing and yet I still had trouble with them finishing on time in this climate so be careful if you have cooler than average fall periods. I chose not to return to this strain for the 2009 season and instead will be trying out Himalaya Gold from Greenhouse and also Sweet Tooth from Barneys Farm as they look to be the best suited strain for my requirements.

Smoke Report: The buds were pretty airy and nowhere near what I would call dense. The buds looked pretty decent nonetheless but their main appeal was in the scent. I cured this stuff properly and was rewarded with a very unique aroma. Id liken the scent to a grapefruit/diesel/fuel smell, very pugnent and it never faded over the 4 months it took me to deplete my supply. The flavor was pretty good and it had a spicy taste that resembled the fuel smell it carried. The high is pretty narcotic, not really what Id call a social high, more of a couch lock stone. I would rate this strain 7/10 smoke wise.

I have a grow journal covering my experience with Brainstorm but its located on a different site, so PM me if you want to check it out.
