Maybe Someone Can Help

Having problems here - grow is indoor hydro (ebb and flow) under a mix of flouro and HPS. Has been working well until lately. Using GH nutrients with 3-2-1 ratio. PH is around 5.7, checked by meter, ph strips, and aquarium ph test solution.

What is happening is as follows: Plants germinate quite well but then within 1-2 weeks I begin seeing leaves turning brown and dying. Usually this starts at the bottom and works up the plant, anthough sometime the tops turn brown quickly.

Anyway, the plants tend to be weak and slow growing.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Thanks

how much are you feeding your seedlings ( ppm - parts per million )?
sounds like you may be feeding too much too fast...young plants do not need much food/nutrients to start... better to error on the low side and underfeed, than to give em too much and start burning them.
you can usually tell when plants need more food, as soon as they start to fade in color and show signs of a deficiency, that's when you can up the ppm's / food / nutrients.

In response - I have had many grows, only lately has this problem occurred. Most of the plants are affected.
The strains are mixed, the medium is rockwool.
PPM of nutes is 500-900 (base water is about 150).
Temps are 80 or less.

some strains can tolerate different levels of nutrients....some like more and others like less.
do you have a picture?

ppm's seems a bit high for plants that young?
