Hey Dumbass Here's A Glossary Of Terms For Ya. This Guy Is A Complete Idiot. Why Anyone Would Buy From Him

PAR- Photosyntetically Active Radiation: Refers to the comparison of light wavelengths that promote plant growth.

PPF- Photosynthetic Photon Flux: The measurement of light photons that leave a light fixture.

PPFD- Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density: The number of photons from a fixture that reach a square meter area per second. Written as: μmol/m2/s

DLI- Daily Light Integral: The number of photons that a given plant requires per day

Generally max is 1500ppfd for a grow. Sun at high noon is something like 2000 but it's not that all day.

Here we say 800ppfd is about best. If you have the environment and skills to really benefit from more you wouldn't be asking these questions.

Sure I would, I pull 2 lbs every 50-55 days out of a 40X40 tent with an hps. I have the skills and the properly tuned environment to pull it off, As of right now I also only asked one question so not plural . The reason I ask is because I'm going to be retiring an hps in my genetics testing box and I would like to take the plunge into a DIY vero 29 light. I never put much thought into the science of indoor lighting until I started thinking L.E.D. And Since I'm here and I have your attention I guess I will ask another question, Is 4-5 vero 29 7th gen cobs driven at 1400 mah going to be to much for a 2x2 area?

It's easier just to look at it as how many watts per square foot, then you can work out how many watts each COB consumes by multiplying voltage by current. Most references I've seen say that there's not much point going higher than 75w sq/ft. I use about 65w and it works well. They don't look like they could take much more actually. Already some bleached tops with that. So probably 60-70w sq ft. But if you have a PAR meter then you could try for 800-1000. I wouldn't go over 1000.

Maybe buy a dim-able driver? why would it be too much? I was told the same thing with a 1k hps in a 40x40 tent and I made it work. The issue for that was heat though, Took a 5k btu AC but it still works great :)
Guys around here like to talk like whatever they say is law. I say if you can handle the heat, throw as many photons at those bitches as you can.

I'd go dimmable. As the saying goes.....better to have and not need.....

But yeah that's a lot in a 2x2.

There were some growers pulling around 2 grams per watt with sub 1000ppfd. So be interesting to see what you get, historically pulling 2lbs in 40x40.

Everyone weighs different tho....so some dudes do fully cured no leaves and stems. Some do green buds on a stick.

Well I could drop it down to 1050 mah or only do 4 cobs or both ?? I'm not buying any components for at least another week so it could be changed if it could work better another way :)
