Max grow time for autos

How long can you grow an auto for? Say if it's a 60 day from seed to bud, what happens if you push it through to 100 days, or 200 or 365?

I suppose you can let them go as long as you want but eventually they will die.. most breeders boast quicker times than you will find in reality.. Shortest ive seen is just under 10 weeks (HSO Lost Coast Skunk), longest so far 16 (Short Stuff Russian Rocket Fuel)

After the plant flowers if its still allowed to continue , The plant starts a more hemp like growth phase ....... Unless youre making clothes or bracelets its rather useless to let them continue past prime ...... I will say that most cannabis specific ferts tend to rob them of the nitrogen needed to run too much longer after flower

Once the trichomes degrade, the smoke is past prime and will lose potency.Check the trich's and if you have mostly cloudy with some amber, that's usually pretty good smoke.

That said the last two weeks is when they do their fattening of the buds, so if you cut them short you lose weight.

I have one going now that's 131 days old.

So if you keep the nitrogen up in the flower phase, is that more likely to push their veg growth too?

They are Apollo 400 watt( I think 230somthing true watts) Chinese but I am on my third run with some of them and they are still ticking no problems they are the 5 watt diodes full spectrum, I ran three of them for awhile when I had a full tent.

its not so much the nitrogen that will prolong veg as it is a slight P-K def .... also if you were to only feed it bloom nutes from the start it would try and finish faster ... but dont expect it to yield much..... i try and keep my fans as green as possible until chop

Good to know. Only reason I'm asking is I've got an auto I transplanted twice (and was totally shocked) so basically stuffed the veg time. Now it's in full flower and about 4 inches tall like a little bonsai. :wall:
