Master Kush and Ice 39 days flowering

Sup guys?

This would have been posted a few weeks ago, but I kept walking past my vape to get to the computer and kept pushing it back.

My latest grow is from seed in a hydroponic DWC setup. The same setup I used in my previous grows. I am using ScrOG method to maximize on my lights. The plants grow more evenly, so I don't have to raise the lights much. Good for CFLs as they have weaker penetration than HIDs. As the title foretells, I have 1 Nirvana Ice plant and 1 Nirvana Master Kush plant. Learned NOT to ScrOG these 2 together. The Master Kush is taking over the screen! Not to mention, it didn't enter flowering as quickly as the Ice did. So the Ice is doing great, but the Master Kush is starting to hog the lights. I'll probably trim it back some. Anyway, here are a couple pictures of the Ice buds forming. It got that name for a reason! I still have about 4-5 weeks left to go, but they are getting FROSTY! They also smell great! Kinda like limes. One of the pictures is an overview of the screen. You can clearly see which is the Ice surrounded by Master Kush. Enjoy the pictures. Let me know what you think!

Looking super nice. Great node spacing! Thoses are gonna be sweet. I love DWC started my second grow that way and there is no looking back, gonna switch to scrog next time though. Really could have used it this time one lady ran away with all the lights, but they are all the same strain...clones from the same mother too. I think it was the air stone, probly got better air flow to that plant..mine aren't fastened down at all.

yeah i bet it does smell nice, my white castle plant smelled great too! i figured it was the Ice that made it smell so nice! nice buds too dude!

I have heard bad things about using chicken wire for ScrOG.

For day 39 both of those strains should have much larger, full-formed colas at this point. If your going to put in the time, might as well reap the reward.... get yourself a HID light asap

Looks good man, I just put a nirvana master kush into flower so I clicked this thread to see what it looks like a bit into flower, I like! Nice work! I like your purple lighter.

Thanks for the replies! Concerning the lights: I can't count the number of times someone has told me "...better get a HID on those!" I am, very obviously, not a serious grower. I don't have clients that I grow for. I have never sold anything I grow. This is litterally like a science project for me with an awesome reward at the end. So yield isn't imperitive. Also, yes, they probably should be a lot thicker by now, but I actually had a rough extended veg period with these (accidently let the roots dry out pretty bad while I was out of town). I didn't actually expect them to live, but I nursed them back to health and they seem to be doing fine now. As far as the chicken wire goes, I can see why they could be an issue, but it has been working fine for me so far. I learn something new from every grow, and that's why I love doing it! These plants keep me on my toes! I'll continue to post more pictures! Shoot me any other questions or comments. I love input from other growers!

Dude i get about 32 grams a month out of my pc box just swapping in clones, that's all i need. All i pay for is nutes keep doing what you're doing brother, CFL is the way to go for cheap, stealth, non-commercial growth. If you have the space and resources for HID good for you (as well as the need), but if all you want is your own grow/smoke experience forget all that stuff. Just use LST and SCROG you'll be STRAIGHT

Is that day 39 from the time you flipped her to 12/12 or day 39 from first sign of pre-flower? If it's from the time you flipped, she looks right on to me. Good job. Stay high.

@khemist: right on man! Thats exactly what I want to do! Still trying to find that perfect strain I want clone off of for a while. I did successfully clone 2 off of the master kush, so that will be my next grow. Ultimately I would like to create a strain out of the seeds I have. Maybe a cross between black jack (I loved the smell and taste) and ice (short bushy and nice bud structure). But we'll see!

So how many days of actual flowering?

I am using CFL lights and my buds are 3 times thicker than yours. How far are the lights from canopy?

Ehhh...didn't get much sleep last night. Anyway, in my post last night I included some shots of the ladies' surrent progress. Before anyone posts it...yes, I know I would get thicker buds with HIDs, I know. I changed the nutrient solution yesterday to a mix of MaxiGrow and Kool Bloom dry. I've read that the Kool Bloom has best effect when used in the 2 part liquid/dry, but I have also read that people have success with just dry durring the last 2-4 weeks of flower. I mixed my solution in 1 gallon of water with 4.5 tsp of MaxiBloom (recomends 1/gal) and .5 tsp of KoolBloom (recomends .25/gal). I was worried that might be to much, so I only poured half of the pre mixed gallon into my 5 gallon reservoir. So all the measurements I put in are currently at half strength in 5.5 gal of solution. I now worrie I don't have enough in there. Tis better to go light than heavy though, so I'll see how they respond this afternoon and adjust. Concerning the thickness, I'm sure they would be even thicker than they are had I not let my res dry out 3 weeks ago. I was out of town for a weekend and didn't plan ahead, so the res dried up and the plants just cooked for about a full day! Not so good, but they are doing o.k. (not great) As you can see in the pictures, the larger fan leaves are losing color and there are some brown spots that look like nutrient burn/lock. I'm blaming that on the dry up as there was a lot of dry nutes on my medium when I discovered them. So there you go, if anyone has suggestions on how I might be able to get them looking a little healtier, please leave a comment!

@sice: they took a while to show sex, 3 or 4 weeks if I remember correctly. So I would say they are just over 40 days (give or take 5 days) flowering from first signs of sex.

Forgot to mention, if you look at the OP I used a lighter for size comparison, all the larger kolas were about the height of the lighter. Each one is now about twice as tall as they were in those pictures.

Looking damn good man. can you throw up a shot under the screen? My plants are just thru the screen...on my first scrog attempt and i'm curious.
