Yes, that's what I am using. I bought 6 1' extension cords and wired the th16 and smart switches into the cords so I can plug anything (light, fan, far red puck, etc) into the cord and it then becomes a "smart" device I can control with my phone. The exhaust fan is currently programmed to turn on when humidity reaches 60% and off if it gets down to 50%. It could be programmed to operate by temperature instead.

The draw results are surprising but cant say I wasn't warned.
OK so if I remember correctly Current x Voltage will give you watts.
0.981 x 118.5V (reading at the outlet where the lights are plugged in.) = 116.25 Watts

So I wanna look into the claim of 1000 Watts. There are 100 LED on each panel. Claims to have 10 Watt Double chip. So Dual 5W/5W So How are they getting a number like this to advertise.

The math there makes 1000. But 1000 watts at what voltage? or even 10 watts at what voltage? Those LED arent 120V a piece. IMAG0123[1].jpg

I've been using these Sonoff smart outlets for my tent lighting to see power usage and timer:
https://www.amazon.com/Sonoff-Monitoring-Assistant-Supporting-Required/dp/B078N7DX9C/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=lamps-light&ie=UTF8&qid=1522290074&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=sonoff&psc=1

For $18 each, they are great. They are are configured using your smart phone. You can program to turn on and off at specified times and they show real time wattage/amps/volts. I am also using one on an ethereum mining rig so I can shut it down and restart it remotely if the miner crashes.

Damn, now I sound like a commercial! NO, I am not selling these! LOL!!! I have no vested interest in them, just trying to help people out. There is a thread on here somewhere about Sonoff devices, which is where I learned of them.
I almost had to start shaking a finger here Big Green

Idk, but i'm new and they got me to get a couple haha. Misleading stuff like that is so annoying these days, but that what you get for experience I guess lol.

What did you get? I knew what I was buying, however I was expecting closer to 240 watt draw. But no matter we shall see what the potential is here. I'm quite happy with the performance in contrast to the money I paid.

Bought a couple Vipar's (still cooking okay for me - just not fully as advertised). Also a 1000 watt cheap chinese LED that was a "1000" watter like you bought. Was summarily disappointed and had to go learn about lights haha. They definitely still work, just not what that they say. I figured when I bought 2 600 w vipars and that '1000' watter I was totally good.

Sadly no, they have like no coverage that isn't directly under them. But anything directly under them still gets quite a bit of light. Just totally poor coverage was my biggest hatred.

Tried to use 4 lights in a 5x5 tent - can't even cover it all. Installed a hlg 550 recently... Covers the entire tent with 1 light now lol.

But ya, IDK... just the name of the game. Information is key. They can definitely still grow tho, just can't do anything even remotely close to real 1000 watt lights. I'll have some buds with them in a month or so. (Sadly 1st grow tho, so they probably won't get the rep the buds that guys on here grow, but its a start!)

What methods did you use to determine your coverage?
