You're allowed to have your opinion.First choice for boards, HLG hands down.
Then SF.
Then Mars.
He isn't accurate. I've already proven that with the official Samsung datasheets. Growers need to stop using YouTube like it's a reference point, and stick to actual data. At that point, it's not opinion; it's fact. Not trying to be a dick, but how do we know the things that guy is telling us are completely accurate. I heard the h's where only a couple efficacy points higher then the b's not a 2.7 to 3.3 jump.
Efficacy and quality/reliability, not sure about spectrum, don't know of any independent third party tests on mars.Ok is it because og the spectrum or the K side of lighting?
Shane at Migro has tested a couple of their fixtures, if you consider his par sensor readings to be an accurate test.Efficacy and quality/reliability, not sure about spectrum, don't know of any independent third party tests on mars.
I heard from HLG that he was using plexiglass or something in front of the lights. I don't remember exactly what they said, but it's in a thread somewhere.Shane at Migro has tested a couple of their fixtures, if you consider his par sensor readings to be an accurate test.
Check out Mars SP line or XS Viparspectra. Both have LM301B, Meanwell driver, far red, IR and heat sinks. These are better models to compare to the SF.Hello People i need help on witch one to buy the next couple of days. .
Let me get a quick pro/cons with booth lights.
Its going in a 3x3 and then 4x4 later.
So its between the
MARS HYDRO TS 3000
VS SPIDER FARM SF 4000
I think that was when he tested the 550R, but not the recent tests for the Scorpion.I heard from HLG that he was using plexiglass or something in front of the lights. I don't remember exactly what they said, but it's in a thread somewhere.
Mars uses lower quality ELG series Meanwell drivers, compared to the HLG and XLG series drivers used by Vipar Spectra and Spider Farmer.Check out Mars SP line or XS Viparspectra. Both have LM301B, Meanwell driver, far red, IR and heat sinks. These are better models to compare to the SF.
This is accurate. On an hlg board he tested he had a piece of acrylic in front of the board.I heard from HLG that he was using plexiglass or something in front of the lights. I don't remember exactly what they said, but it's in a thread somewhere.
I always thought they were the same diode, but marketed differently. I’d wager the main difference is the bin, and what that allows them to claim on the specs (though admittedly, the spec differences confuse me too).I think one of the big issues is that even Samsung is not very forthcoming with the info on the 301b vs the 301h. When you look they show them with different measurements which is confusing. They show the H has anti-sulfurization but give no explanation. In the end I doubt a grower would see a difference when running one over the other. I just wish they would be more forthcoming with data on them, I feel they are vague on purpose.

I get the same feeling. I hear about anti-sulfurization coatings and they show anti-sulfurization on the specs yet give no explanation. In the end my HLG uses the H diodes and my plants love it. I would bet if I put in a light with the B diodes my plants would be just as happy.I always thought they were the same diode, but marketed differently. Wow! Those look really nice! I'm book marking that shjt next time I might need a light.I would like to throw some love to Budget LED. Just upgraded from my 3 year old HLG 550 to the light linked there. Been up for about 3 weeks now and my plants seem to be loving it. They are Michigan based and run by former army vets. They use the LM301H diodes and love having the Infinity Board option. It has an On/Off for UV and all 4 sections of the board have a switch for additional Blue or Series 3+ Red spec lighting. Seen great results from other growers on other boards I venture on and there are 5% Off and sometimes higher codes floating out there. Too bad their holiday sale is over, as it was 12% off all their lights. Once it was built I had it shipped out and in my hands 2 days later in S. Ontario. I did have a $61 import fee, but so far, it seems well worth it. I will say the MarsHydro SP250 is a great supplemental light in my old 4x4, and should be handy in my new 5x5.
