That's hilarious! In 'Searching for the sound',phils book,he said he was backstage and bear and a multitude of other cooks and acid dealers had thrown a bunch of L into a quart jar and were passing it around..phil took a sip and made it very clear in the book 'i tasted the lsd..literally tasted the chemical..you're not supposed to taste acid, and there was so much I tasted it.'..he woke up a couple hours later to bobby holding his bass telling him its his instrument, that he plays the bass and had to go onstage now..played a killer show spun-tarded anyways...I don't think being on bears bad list would have been a good idea...lol

'Searching for the sound'..its phil lesh's autobiography..I got real lucky and found a copy at the dollar store :-D
Its a great read if you're a deadhead..lotta insight on the band and their music..at a point its very technical when talking abolut the music(scales and tempo etc..) but hass many good stories like the one I spoke of before...

I haven't read that one. I'll see if the library has it when I finish defeating A Song of Ice and Fire. I really should be taking notes this time.

No, but since then things got weird! In a good way. I've ridden my bike all over the place, got my drunk on watching my friends jam. Came home and ate some paper and having been rocking out to the GD radio since about 3 am.

I have a very good poor memory. Most info I put in can be withdrawn occasionally? I think its actually a photographic memory, but one of the old ones like on the flintstones.

I bought a sheet of some great Acid back in 2000, the plan was to sell most of it and make some extra cash. Instead I had ate most of it between me and a couple friends.. actually I ended up selling two hits only. This is what makes LSD chemists and salesmen so rare, you just get going on this trip...or tangent. money, time, things really mean nothing at times... making connections becomes unimportant...absolute clarity and truth does not work with capitalism or supply and demand

Lol..I've been given thousands of hits at a time, and by the time I pay up,all my profit went to hotels and travel expenses....'aint a bed that can give us rest now,you keep us on the run!'...it really is an occupation of hazard and generosity...if I could make one person smile,I've lived a meaningful life I suppose...

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there are a few personal stashes of Bear's gear out there, but that's not get coming back out. Hell there's probably a vial or two of Delysid out there. I know one was cracked a few years ago.
Right you are, someone busted out a vial of I believe it was nitrogen sealed? Delysid at the Symposium in Basel, Swiz for Dr. H's 100th. Straight up Sandoz pure as the driven Lightning goodness.

Story from a Dead Head show at Concord Pavilion in the 90s. This is third party from a good friend of mine. Group of friends drove to a Dead show in a 80s model Suburban. All the friends ate some acid before the show and had an amazing trip and a great concert. After the show they were lingering in the parking lot as long as possible, smoking and laughing and letting the LSD work its way through the system. As the parking lot starts to empty and the LSD as shifted gears to a mellow come down, the driver of the Suburban realizes that the engine will not turn over. The car just won't. They ask some hippies for a jump and they discover it is NOT the battery. There is some other mechanical problem with the suburban. They hippies have to go after helping as much as they could. The parking lot is now empty except for this group of friends and a broke down suburban. The Pavilion parking had a bunch of rolling hills that the lot spaces were on. Out in the distance at the far end of the parking lot the group of friends sees a man dancing his way over one of the hills and towards the broke down vehicle. As the man dances and skips closer and closer with a giant smile on his face, the friends see this man is wearing a 'fairy costume'. Complete with curly shoes and a pointy hat. The man skips up to the group of friends and merrily says " It looks like you are in some trouble! I know just what you need!" He reaches in a leather 'ferry' fanny pack he has around his waste and pulls out a handful of what can only be described as 'magic fairy dust'. He sprinkles the dust all over the Engine, turns and smiles at the group of friends and says " Have a great day everyone!" and skips off into the distance, over the hills.
Well the group of friends is now getting frustrated. The LSD is wearing off and the suburban has been broke down for a couple hours. NO ONE even thought for a second this Fairy Man fixed the car. The plan was to send a couple people walking to a pay phone. But, no one had money to fix the car and who would they call to help them ? All of them with a head full of Acid? Frustration and worry sets in. Finally, someone tries to start the truck... ONE.. LAST.. TIME before they gave up hope. The Suburban turned right over as if there was nothing ever wrong with it. The fairy dust somehow fixed the truck. The fairy man never stopped to look back or turn and see if the car was working. He just knew his fairy dust fixed it somehow.
Anyways, crazy but true story from a Grateful Dead concert.
Has anyone else ever seen this Fairy at the concerts?

Nol but I had a similar story at hampton at a phish show..we were in a 1968 bread delivery truck fashioned into a winnebago/rv..it had big letters on the front "phakeabago"..it wouldn't start after the show(good in a way since all were spun the fuck out)..we passed out in the parking lot..our fairy came tapping at the window at 8am..but it was dressed as a state cop for some reason..he gave us a jump and it was all good...only worthwhile cop on the planet! The rest are speesbumps and don't perform well at that...jerseysfinest..all delysid was packed in the glass vials with nitrogen gas inside...but it would make sense to pack it in liquid nitrogen for long term storage..id rather store it In my stash box..lol

Found this on the 'tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7fOuPTZtWI All this talk about my favorite magic concoction is going to make me have to resort to the 'Road. I'm Long overdue for some Goodness, and no Festies or good Tours are swinging through this area this Summer. Men, if it's good and you can get it, fucking STOCKPILE that shit in your freezer. I used to be able to make a phone call and have Bibles on my doorstep in 15 minutes. Ahhh for the good old days. And Rory, thanks for the info. What an amazing substance. *sigh*
