Wad up all I got over 10 sprouts going and 5 or so more coming up too. First time growing and i just decided to grab some soil, germinate some seeds in a dark space and so I did and all sprouted so i decided to throw em into 2 little bins and shine a desk light on it. In result the sprouts are all a few inches large and they look nice. We have one light shining on the two buckets but adding a few more lights maybe(?). But does anyone know if I should re plant them in bigger bins cause these fuckers are growing n its only been a few days from seeds to 3 inch plants. Does anyone have a good description on the male/female difference - there was one large plant that sprouted before every other one i think its male cause mad big but not sure. yea its only my first time growing but if anyone has suggestions let me kno, thx.

Congrats on the little sprouts- they're looking cute. They do look like they're stretching a bit. You will definitely need to replant them into some kind of pots or deeper containers because a) they will need more space to themselves to thrive, and b) apparently cannabis does better in deep containers. When you replant, gentle separate the seedlines out of the large container and do what you can to preserve as much as of the soil around them because the tap root grows very deep and long. (In the future, I'd recomment germing in separate containers to avoid accidentally damaging the root and stressing the plant). Plant into as big a container as you can afford spacewise. Note that you can plant up to the round cotyledon leaves and the plant will root along the stem. This will create a sturdier plant and eliminate the stretching you are currently experiencing. You need to fix your light source and either get a more intense light or get them closer to the plants as well to ensure you don't continue to see stretching.

Unless you used feminized seeds, you won't be able to tell sex with any certainty until you place them on 12/12 and they show preflowers. I don't think it's possible to eyeball a seedling and tell whether it's male/female, but then while I garden quite a bit, I'm not as versed in growing MJ.

hey thanks for the advice and yeah, im moving them to a larger container soon. by stretching what do ya mean ? the lights we use aren't hot enough to exterminate the stretching ?

You don't need hot lights for your plants to grow. In fact you want your lights to be as cool as possible. You need them to be bright and also you want a bluer light than most lights. Go to home depot or WalMart and get some CFL's (compact florescent lights) the swirly lights. Get some that are in the blue box and say daylight on them. Therefor they are around the 6500k color you want. Get as many as possible. Your "desk lamp" is probably a round bulb im assuming right? Dont use it.

i just got my CFL setup today at walmart. two 6500k (daylight) CFLS, and i also got a "Y' adapter, and another adapter that is a light socket that plugs directly into an outlet. the Y adapter is plugged into that, and i have the lights hangin right above my two plants (ones been goin for about 3 days, and the other just germintaed last night) .oh yea, got a little fan to put in the closet to. all in all, everything (with new potting soil too) cost me 20 bucks. yeaaa

umm....lets see.. i picked up sum that said 75 watt, but that means it's equal to 75 watts of incadescent light i think. example...the ones i bought this morning are 20 watt CFLS, but thats equivalent to 75 incandescent watts. hope this helps...im not that good at explaining..lol.

yup, those will do. those are a little stronger than mine are right now. i was on a pretty tight budget this morning, and ill definitely be adding a few more soon. good luck man!

oh and i guess you have to wait to tell what kind of plant it is (im assuming you mean male or female??) i think u have to wait until you switch to flowering schedule. im new at this myself, so you might wanna look around a little more though. haha peace:peace:
