Managing temps in an outdoor grow room.

I built a grow box last year in my backyard shed in the south eastern US.

All was well with my C99 plants and getting ready to start to flower when the temps outside soared and my plants didn't make it. There was simply no way for me to reduce the heat in the building.

Growing inside the house is simply out of the question. So I wanted to see what advice I could get with this idea.

The shed is made of metal from the top down except for the studs which are wood. The shed does sit under a shaded tree but the temps still get upwards of 90 to 100 degees in the heat of summer.

So I was thinking of insulating the and putting up fiberboard all through the inside of the shed. With the extra wood and fiberglass insulation I have laying around, getting enough to actually do the building would be less than $100.

Then my guess is having a simple window unit AC in the building would help to regulate the heat and a floor space heater would regulate the cold very nicely. The building of course already has power running to it.

So the real question I have comes down to venting in fresh air. Do I need to bring in fresh air from the outside and if so how? Will the AC manage that? And what about the times of the year when the AC is not running? I don't want to cut a vent in just to have my AC escape in the summer and heat to escape in the winter.

I am hoping to get this perfected. If I can, I can conceivebly grow year round with this setup.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

If your going to go through the trouble with an a/c I would get some better lighting at least a 400hps. Without an a/c your not going to be able to grow in the summer time.
