Male flowers on female? Herm?

So... There were some male preflowers on a plant that I chose to grow out for kicks.

After switching to 12/12, these preflowers got bigger - and one or two more cropped up. There were, however, many female flowers starting to form.

Since then (1.5 weeks) the female flowers have continued to mature, sending out pistils readily - and no more male-ish flowers have been identified.

Is this plant a herm? The pic attached shows two of the suspect male structures. There's about 6 of these "balls" on the entire plant... maybe 7. They do not appear in groups anywhere (they're always single structures) and the uppermost nodes have none.

Input is very appreciated, as always...

same happened to me had ballish structures with white hairs coming out,i didnt know wat to do so i left it for another 5 days or so checking daily, then my new growth started to twist, when it rectified itself, i had a whole bract of male flowers growing in the new growth( check my journal on first page). Now im not saying this will happen to you, i would pick the visable balls off if your certain they are and look daily for more forming. U'll see from mine it turned out nasty in the end and i had to chop it:( shame as it was a nice looking plant beforehand lol but best to be safe than sorry when you got other girls nearby :P

pull any pollen sacks you see carefully. if u dont it will self-pollinate itself. which sucks. I have a crappy monitor thats kinda blurry, can you take a few more pics from dif angles maybe?

I've stripped all the visible sacks - and I'm going to keep a good watch out for more... Hopefully they don't make a re-entrance...

I'd normally cut this plant down, but it's only seen 6 male flowers - and no new ones in a matter of weeks... Is this typical herm behavior? Do pollen sacs crop up much later?

i don't know as much as everyone else on this board
but from what i've heard if its just single balls... could be female.
the males make balls in groups (check between your legs, you'll see what i'm talking about)
and if the information i was reading was correct... female flowers can start out looking like pollen balls

if any of these start to show hairs that would mean they are female flowers

once again, i'm not the most experienced person on this board so don't take my word for it
but if its not gonna harm any females... grow it out and see what happens
even if it is a herm, seed weed is still plenty smokable, if a pain in the ass
and if its all male? you could collect the pollen and fertilize just one bud
on a female plant using the paper bag method (note: this is different than the paper bag method humans use)
let us know how it goes either way.

Hmmm, I don't really see evidence of a hermie by that picture(hard to tell though). Some of my buds come out in different looking clusters, but they show hairs, the male ones don't have hairs, they look like little balls hanging from a string. I just grew out a hermie, removed the balls and they didn't come back for past few weeks, I got paranoid one day and started seeing little clusters 40 days into 12/12 and started to remove them and realized it was new buds coming out, not pollen sacks. I noticed later my new growth looks a little different and more swelled, than when plant was younger. Good Luck.

Here is a picture of mine when I noticed it was a hermie.

sorry 4 hijacking but i have a plant that has what looks kinda like those sacks except only 1 by calax and the sorta ball comes to a point also i just noticed what looks like tiny tiny tiny two hairs coming out of ball is that male or female so its a way smaller ball but instead of being rounded its pointy and 1 has small hairs coming out also i didnt think males grew long side branches or shoots etc. When i look up pics of male plants they always are just one main stem with fan leaves growing off and in between the main stem and fan leaves where side branches are supossed to grow its just 2 or 4 leaves with seeds all over them and i noticed female plants have really long shoots on side of main stem and bids come from the shoots that grow off the shoots or something called secondary shoots...?

From what I can tell that is a female no male flowers in that pics as far as I can see.
What I see in the pic is the female calyx.

I keep seeing people saying the male flowers look like balls. Well ok kind of. They literally look like little bunches of tiny bananas not balls.
Reminds me of people talking about harvest time being when the majority of the hairs turn red/brown not true ether.

in a way. if you are talking about actual males as i believe the person who posted post #8 was talking about when he said males have balls. male flowers can resemble balls.

you are correct in a way that balls isnt the best word to describe hermie male parts though.

Looks more like a bunch of bananas to me! Just trying to be very clear we are in the newbie forum where things can be taken the wrong way very easy. Just dont want to have some new person plucking female flowers cause the look round. Great pics as examples of the difference between male and female.

Mine popped balls after like 3 weeks of flower. I pulled them all off and it never made any more.
