Making tincture & coffee filter using a lot of liquid!

This is my first attempt at tincture. It all looks really great.... I'm using a coffee filter as suggested to filter out the last of the cannabis as I funnel into the bottles.... but it's 1) taking a LONG time, and 2) the filters are using a LOT of the liquid! I'm having to change filters since they get clogged, so more filters, more liquid used. I'm re-using the filters as much as possible, but it's still wasteful.
My question is: can I do it without the coffee filters? the cheesecloth left some stuff behind, but, it will come through the droppers......
??
thanks.... I'm trying to figure it all out.

I used cheesecloth first, but it still left a lot. I also just emptied out the first filter, and it has a bunch of junk in the bottom. I think I'll just go ahead, keep using the filters and lose some of the liquid ;).
thanks!
also, mac, thanks for the heads up on the filters busting!

Well, after 3 1/2 hours, they finally dripped. I used several filters as they clogged....but didn't squeeze any of them! I got 23 1/2, 1/2 oz bottles! (used 1 pint everclear w/1 1/2 oz cannabis). I tried it, but can't tell the effects of helping the nausea....wasn't nauseous today! It's also from a plant I grew 2 years ago, and don't know what kind it was, so don't know if it's Indica, Sativa or what. It's the last of that years' plants. This year I bought seeds and grew AK47 & Afghan. Can't wait to try making tincture out of those! This will probably last awhile, though.
First was cannabutter (but made my cholesterol go up too high). Next is learning to make hash! fun, fun fun!!! I grew my first 'name brand' plants this year! YIPPEEE

That's awesome that your having fun doing this. There are lots of ways to make hash or dabs. Go solvent-less if you're concerned about what you out in your body.
