making soil options

hi there, in the past i have used pro mix veg and herb organic, which i know has time release, but it still worked pretty well. Now i am getting my license to grow and want to grow more. So for the sake of cost and quality i was wondering two things. Is there a bagged organic soil i could grab from a hardware store conveniently that you have used? if not how do i go about making soil? for roughly 3 gallon pots how much bone and blood meal? how much perlite? and how much lime, if i use peat moss? I would ideally like to buy it bagged all ready to go and nothing more than perlite. So if there is something at a hardware store, or if you guys have used promix organics too let me know. Thanks for your time and expertise

Look to subcools soil recipe. It's in the organics section. Honestly it's going to be your best bet as it gets better everytime you reuse it. Do you have any decent nurserys around? I've used a brand called purple cow here in Michigan before it's good poo. Or again build yourself some good super soil and re amend and re use.

thanks buddy! do you use purple cow on its own? also i couldnt find the recipe, is there anyway you could link it if you happen to have it saved. thanks for your time and help

I build all my soil. I have animals so I use their poo and I compost. I reuse all my soil dump it in several 55gallon drum up off the ground and turn it daily. I think I'm up to 7 55 gallon drums of soil all different ages.

The easiest way to get into clean organic soils

is to start with the expensive but great Fox Farm Ocean Forest

add 25% perlite

at each harvest you just top up/ add another bag of perlite and FFOF

or whatever you have laying around that you may have 'made' yourself

trust me in 1-2 years you will have the finest proudest soil in the hood

then your parent find it and steal it for their tomatoes and roses ...lol

good luck
