It always depends on how potent you want them. But the 1/4 oz with 1 stick should work perfectly if it's good bud. Hell you could even use half a stick for a real potent small batch. Just remember to cook with at least 4 cups of water as well.

What I recommend though is using a crock pot, cook the butter at 200F all day or for 9 hours with 4-5 cups of water too. After that use cheesecloth to strain everything in the crock pot into a tupaware. Then put it in the freezer, wait for it to harden, and remove the top light yellow-green layer that is your cannabutter. Disgard everything else in the tupaware and always remember to scrape off the shitty plant matter on the bottom of the butter. ALL OF IT, it could get ya sick.
