Making Buds go Purple....!!...?????...!help

hey my people,
i am looking for some good tips on making your buds turn purple.
i have heard if you lower the dark hours temp. to below 50. for about a week, that your buds will go purple.
i have no idea if that is true or not. i have also heard that if the temp ever drops below 50F that the plant will start to die.
so if you have any advice on making buds turn purple, please let me know.

also, i know that you can cut the stem at harvest, and stick it into food coloring, or kool-aid and the buds will change.....but i do not want to do this if i can make the buds go purple a different way.

You might get some purpling with colder temps..but you will also slow their growth to a crawl and will more than likely put a dent in your yield.

Chances are that if anything happens the leaves will color up..but the buds won't..many times it is genetic makeup...not environmental factors..that influence color.

and the food color thing..why would ya wanna fuck up good bud like that? You don't get high off the color of the pot.

Grow Blueberry/BB crosses..Black Russian..Purple Doja...etc for good purples

good luck

Depends on strain, and my plants are out in 37 degrees right now... The cold does slow growth but luckily this is the last night of freezing weather here. The coldest weather my plants have been in is 31 degrees, I put bags over them and they perked right up the next morning.

One of my plants looks like the pic fdd posted, with the purple leaves and what not. It was bagseed in the 1st place, and I know for a fact I have never gotten a bag of purple weed.

funny thing is all the leaves turn purple but once it's manicured their is no purple in the buds. they turn this color indoors and outdoors. more so in the cold though.

get out of the message boards shut the puter off and go establish the dominant role with your plants, quit being such a pacifist, turn them purple by force if necessary, or quit using bagseed, buck up and go get some clones from someone who has a real purp strain

why this big obsession with purple. i don't get it. believe me i've smoked alot of different buds and being purple is really not any factor in any of it. people pay more money for purple weed here. why? what does it do for you? you know you can die it with cool-aid. there are products you can buy. but why? please someone explain this HUGE fascination over purple to me, please.

purp is just another strain, but if they'll pay more for it I say let them, for me it's no different either, after an ounce its time to switch strains, the variety for me is the key to good highs vs ammount smoked.

purple is crazy prices over here

1/4 - 120

so your saying i could just "dye" the weed with kool aid

yes you could just "dye" the weed with kool aid. but it soaks up the kool-aid, through the stem. so it goes purple from the inside out.
its not like your dipping the buds into a dye.
i think im going to make one of my colas purple, using the KoOl-AiD method or something.

ps. fdd there is no obbsession with purple. i dont sell any of my yeild. i just wanted purple buds because i think they look really pritty.......really cool.

The percentage of being successful with making a strain purle yourself is low and IMO too risky for alot of time/work/waiting/money. Ask youself what color you want your bud before you even start. Dont try and change what you have. just spoil you plant with what it likes and will use.
