So i have been researching fabric planters as i need a 100 gal bed and they dont sell them near me.

Grass roots use a geotextile non woven 300gsm
Geopot use a 380 non woven geotextile.

And they both use canvast and camping industrial n100 plastic poly thread uv resistant and anti mould and wicking. I got that
And i can tripple hemm it on my overlocker just the same.

Now the fabric after multi enquirys i seem to have located this high strenght non woven geotex and want to know if you have experince in it and know if its suitable .

Its 200dollar a 10m roll and i can make 3 from that at 4.5m wide. So beats grassroots price to import at 800usd with a min order.

Just want to know if its suitable

This non-woven geotextile material is manufactured from UV stabilised, high-tenacity, virgin polypropylene fibres. They are both mechanically and thermally bonded, providing exceptional strength and resistance to abrasion.

Designed and engineered to provide excellent resistance to damage during construction and implementation. Terram sheeting is manufactured using randomly oriented web directions. This guarantees that protection and strength is provided uniformly and isn’t limited to one particular direction. It offers high levels of permeability despite the low pore size that delivers excellent soil filtration and ground stalisation.

Standard geotextile membranes enhance the operational life of granular layers by supplying filtration and keeping the different layers separate. Common uses for standard geotextiles include ground stabilisation (between the sub-base and subgrade), erosion control and support around drainage materials.

Designed to prevent intermixing of granular materials and soils:

Geotextiles provide additional ground protection and an effective solution when constructing a stable granular layer over soft foundation soils.

When stone is put directly on a soft subgrade, the heavier load can cause mixing between the 2 layers. This results in contamination of the rock layer and a loss in strength, surface rutting and deformation in the sub-base/subgrade combination.

Preventing intrusion into drainage media:

When utilised in granular drain situations, or with a geosynthetic alternative such as open geocellular units, Terram standard geotextiles are an excellent solution for preventing unwanted contamination of roots, weeds and other pollutants. It supports premium levels of erosion control as well as enhanced ground protection.

Fitting is simple:

You should always follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions, but fitting the Geotextile sheeting is simple. Lengths can feature simple overlaps, or where preferred, pegging, sewing, stapling or gluing is also fine where appropriate with the application, the sub-grade conditions and load.

Filters / separators are utilised extensively in the construction of:

  • Paved and unpaved roads
  • Railways
  • Car parks and hardstandings
  • Cycleways and footpaths
  • SuDS installations
  • Green roofs
  • Soakaways

For the price. You could sew a sheet from already made fabric pots and money left over.
