My contest is about political reform that we can control. If u are alive you must have heard about the banking crisis and then on top of that the bonuses the bank cartels are handing out with our bailout tax money. This week the Fed Chair is up for Vote from our elected senators. Ben Bernake is a crook and needs to be removed as well as our fed. So contact your senators and ask them not to re apoint this man to the Fed chair. You can find you senators here http://www.campaignforliberty.com/congress.php

As for the contest as a community lets challenge ourselves to get atleast 100 ppl to do this and post in this thread when you've accomplished contacting you senators. The Reward will come if he is removed or at least feeling like we are attempting to change this horific situation. Thanx

Well unless you think he has us as a ppl at the top of his importance list.

The only politically smart thing to do would be to throw Bernanke under the bus and let him get run over. The citizen will feel better, although I doubt it would make one iota of difference in the long run.

What would really make a difference is if we all took every penny of our money out of the banks.

that would surely make a statement, it would devastate these assholes as well, banks would be dropping like flies. then maybe they would understand that we, the people are running things and need to be treated as such.

An even better idea would be for everyone to take their money out of chase, shittybank and bank of america and put it into a local and regional savings bank type places...

All banks should not be lumped together. many did not hold so much bad paper to begin with and did not take any federal money. They are being unfairly hurt with the broad brush.

I have sat down in an office and a restaurant setting with my district representative and congressman on several occasions. I have been piecemealing a lot of issues, but I think I have assuaged them and are impressed. I havent been so brazen as to introduce marijuana legislation yet, but I am nearly finished with my first draft. Makes me nervous. I dont care the odds of it going up or the process or none of that bullshit. I am working with the folks at NORML and I am well on my way. I have several propositions on the way. I know my rep is not a career politician and I have his support with just about all of my talking points, but my congressman, I think he is in it for as long as possible. I dont think the government needs to be a career job. Seats dont "belong" to anyone. If enough of us call bullshit and to get rid of the offending bureaucrat, we should be able to send them on their merry fucking way.

As far as fed chairman, lets get an employee from McDonalds drive thru cash window and toss em up there for some change I can believe in. A fucking spider monkey could perform the job better. Hell, at least McDonalds is a customer service oriented corporation, even if the change, the order, and they take long as fuck.

At least if they fuck it up you can complain and get a couple free apple pies, and your money back. And if the fuckers get out of line, they get fired.

The best thing you can do is stop buying corporate made bullshit imported from China for the lowest quality, lowest cost, highest profit. If you absolutely MUST go shopping, get important shit like durable tools, manuals, math/algebra books, survival gear, etc... Stop buying from wal mart and buy from your local general store. Support the local community. If you cant get your specific brand of stuff, Quit being a whiny bitch and deal with the toilet paper that scratches your ass. Life is about to change bigtime.

-Turn off the cell phone. You probably pay $38 in taxes and fees just for having a cell phone. Thats probably funding the equipment they use to parse your data file/log that is downloaded every day, in amounts in excess of 3x the size of the Library of Congress (THOMAS) the largest library in the world.

-Ride your bike. You save money in gas, which takes yet more money from global corporations as well as taxes that the government applies.

-Stop smoking. Fuck your health. It was never good enough of a reason to quit before. However, quit so you can fuck the system of taking an extra $1.50 per pack for you to buy a product that kills you. Thats right, you are paying the government to kill yourself. Good enough reason to quit?

-Turn off the TV. I promise it sucks for a little bit but you quickly get immersed in something else. You save youself the trouble of paying to see 23 minutes of commercials on average every hour. I dont remember if there are any fees.

-Stop buying ANYTHING you dont NEED. No more extras, you need to buy things that will last a while including food. This strips away all the money from those corporations. Of course, that will mean more unemployed, but at 47%, we are fucked already. Might as well get back at the corporations, and take away some of that money they will be feeding into our politicians.

-Live sustainably Teach yourself survival skills, how to identify plants in nature, learn how to read maps and use a lensatic compass, grow your own food, etc etc etc (I suggest the Foxfire line of books. Oldie, but goodie.)

-Pack your shit, and hold onto your asses. Its going to be a helluva ride.

Obama = Priest.
Burnake = Sheriff.

This pretty much seems like what is going to happen to get everyone off his ass:

There is only approx. 408mil Americans but if all of them bought what they thought they needed foir a month and didnt buy a single damn thing or even go to work, Ill bet that so many corporations would not know what to do and shit their balls out of their asses. I mean, they would have no fucking clue how long it would last. Mass suicides, CEO rampages, bank failures, politicians offing each other... lol it would be a fucking riot. Folks would get to spend time with their families, have a much needed vacation... And what is better then INSTANT results? Americans want it NOW more than anything else. So if everyone stopped buying ANYTHING and going to work (supporting the system altogether) you will see instant results. On the news WORLDWIDE. youll see people around you doing absolutely fine, yet the gov will be nervous as hell. THERE WILL SIMPLY BE TOO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE WITH TOO MANY FUCKING PROBLEMS, WITH TOO MANY FUCKING GUNS, WITH TOO MUCH FUCKING TIME ON THEIR HANDS TO SIT AND THINK ABOUT HOW TO FUCKING MAKE SOME REAL CHANGE.

I flagrantly use the word above because I am simply fucking tired of this bullshit. It is like being forced to live in a house with an emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive father, but you cant leave because you need the support he provides, and to make sure you take care of your little brother and sister. You grow up with it, and you hate it, and you get TMJ because you gnash your teeth at night because of it. Yet it lingers there, and over time, you get used to it, but finally you escape it. Then, somehow, down along the road, you notice that you beat your cat when it does something wrong, and yell at your kids needlessly. You start exhibiting the behavior of your parents, whether you like it or not...

Yeah, well fuck that. Time to nip that shit in the bud. And not with some Zoloft, or Oxycontin, or Booze, or whatever the fuck it is to run away from and mask the problem. One month PURCHASING strike and they are on their knees. Make some big purchases based on your experiences over the last month; dont buy a damn thing for another month. OHHHHHH!!! The talking heads would have no fucking clue what would happen.

(Keep in mind all of this is assuming that somehow it all got organised and people bought into it, prepared, etc etc... this IS after all a theory [being that it would have a low probability of occurring] and there will still be a large number of people who would still support the system, because they are ignorant, or just dont give a fuck. But still. It would be nice. mmm

Perhaps you've read the book - The Long Emergency ? It's by James H. Kunstler and details his version of the coming days of the end of oil and the impact on society.

If nothing else the book is entertaining.

Living alternatively is easier said than done for some people, but it's not impossible. I often reduce my propane bill for my refrigerator in the winter by freezing plastic jugs outside and storing them in the fridge like a giant cooler. This message I'm writing is being powered by that big orange ball in the sky. Tools and knowing how to use them are very useful and can save a person alot of money in the long run.

While I certainly would never tell anyone that they mustn't smoke cigarettes (I rarely smoke them myself) I agree that giving money to the government
via a heavy tax is a bit perplexing. Any time there is a heavy tax or out right prohibition, the government has actually opened a black market.

....speaking of black markets... Thanks for working with NORML.
