Major Stem Trauma: Branch Tore Off

Was doing some training techniques and snapped off a giant branch. I guess it was just too thick/brittle to bend. I put some tape on it to hold it in place but when I came home a few hours later all the leaves on the branch were wilted so I tried to tear the branch off at the node since it looked like it would come loose easily. I was wrong and just tore a large, gaping hole in the stem, twice actually cause I made the mistake again with a smaller branch stub.

The plant just looks sad with a big gap in in like a pie missing a slice. Will she heal or not? I'm worried about it getting infected with mold/fungi/rot.

The plant looks great, you should not have any problems due to the broken branch.

If you can next take a clean razor blade to make all your cuts or corrections. The stems always peel down and away when you try to do it by hand.
