One of the write ups is below, as of right now they have claimed to have found over 7000 plants and at the end they also comment about 7000 lbs.

And please save all of the "it shouldn't be a crime legalize it crap".
That shit doesn't work as a defence. Follow the law until it is changed or they will continue to change the laws back to where they were.

ADRIAN, MI (WTOL) - Neighbors say they grew flowers for years. Now a Lenawee County couple could face more than 14 years behind bars for growing something else.
An anonymous tip came into the sheriff's office yesterday about the couple's home in the 12000 block of Rome Road in Manitou Beach. When investigators went there, they say they smelled marijuana so they obtained a search warrant.
They executed that warrant Monday night and all day Tuesday. They say they found seven thousand plants on the property, 1,000 in the couple's greenhouse and more hidden among their pine trees. They say the plants are worth about $7 million.
"These plants were well cultivated. These people knew what they were doing," Inspector Gene Adamczyk with the Michigan State Police said about the couple. He wouldn't give the name of the suspects until they're arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon for the growing operation. He did say the couple is in their 60's and has no past criminal record.
"You could asked anything about any flower and how to grow it and he could tell you," said neighbor Bennett Kaincer. He and his wife Linda live across the street from the suspects and have been friends with them for more than 20 years.
"He grew flowers and then he quit growing flowers last year. He was sick. Her back went out. I didn't think they were going to grow anything," said the Kaincers.
Investigators say it looked as though the suspects have had their growing operation for years. Last years, the Kaincers said their neighbors had put up a gate to their property which they would keep locked. If anyone wanted to get in touch with the couple, the Kaincers said they would have to leave a note on the gate. Last year is also when the Kaincers last saw the suspects. That's after they would see them everyday for years.
"When you see them for that many years and they don't come over anymore, something was strange," said the Kaincers.
Investigators say they also seized $2,500 cash from the couple's home, handguns and more processed marijuana.
The county prosecutor wants this case to go federal since penalties on that level could go beyond 20 years.
Investigators say this case is far from over and they're still looking into who else may have been involved.
"7,000 pounds of marijuana is not personal use," said Inspector Adamczyk.
WTOL 11 also asked about medical marijuana since Michigan is one state that allows it to grow. According to state guidelines, a caregiver can only grow 12 plants per patient and 12 plants for the caregiver himself. All plants growers must have a permit, inform law enforcement and grow their marijuana out of public view.

Someone smelled it and called the cops, they went to do a knock and talk and they smelled it, giving them probable cause to search the property.

Or someone called the police on them that has been there before, a business partner, friend, girlfriend etc.

No smell, No tell boys.

They were way to far away from the street to have anything "smelled", they were snitched on, and that's a fact.

they are going to try and use the affirmative defense-
quantities sufficient for themselves and patients. couldn't be any simpler. that's why the law was written that way. when it goes to the supreme court we will have a decision similar to california's no limit ruling.

That would be rather convenient for me.

All plants growers must have a permit, inform law enforcement and grow their marijuana out of public view.
this is wrong. perhaps a few ways.

per Mi law, all you need to do to grow your OWN meds, is say you want to be your OWN CG when you send in the app.

if you cant/dont want to grow, then you Name a CG (who can grow, like a pesonal self CG as myself, ect).

you DO NOT HAVE TO INFORM ANYONE beside the licensing and regulation (LARA) MMJ department. they are the dept issuing Pt and CG registration Cards ect... they CAN NOT give your info to LEO per Federal HIPPA Laws. this protects privite citizen from having his Medical records proded and poked thru by ANYONE without a Court Order or YOUR WRITTEN and Signed consent. Including Jonny Wrotten Lawman. (no offense to those hard working Honest Protectors of the Citizens out there).

now, that county MAY of written some county/city code in a futile attempt to try to Deal with MMJ CG and PT growers in their county, but they can not do so legally, and in doing so, violate the very rules of the MMJ laws they THINK they have the abilty to regulate. which they do Not.
by passing any city/county ordinance, they are breaking approximatly 3 to 5 federal guidlines on farming, not to mention beind a City that is stating they know better than the STATE how the law should work. thus their attempts to Block or Prohibit, or Limit grows in their City or County are illegal to begin with. dont be silly and offer up information for nothing.

keep your mouth shut and do your thing.

Now per our law, their is SOME wording on the USE of MMJ where as public is concerned, and that law is:

you wont do it in the town square, you wont do it in the buss chair.
you cant do it out on the sidewalks, nor can you do it on the boardwalk
you dont dare do it by the school, church, or beach, atleast not within 500 ft.

you can do it in your garage, or even in your shed.
you can do it in your house, and even in your bed.
but when it come to growing, the rules are pretty squared,
in an enclosed locked facility, and out of public stare.
