Mail Delivery: Attitude Seed Bank

i've never had to visit the post office to pick up my beans personally i would be too paranoid.
I have done it many times in the past when I had a P.O. Box and it got full and I found a little card saying I had a package to pick up.

Why would you be paranoid? Postal workers cannot arrest you, they have no legal right to hold you while they call the cops to come for you. If you receive a card saying some pick up a package do you believe the cops will post an officer at the post office each and every day all day just waiting for you to arrive to pick up your package? You might be out of town on vacation or on business and it might be weeks before you would show up to pick up your package. Do you honestly believe the cops would pay to have a cop wait around for some indefinite period of time waiting for you? Do you believe that your local post office does and will inspect the mail that comes in? Do you believe that if the package was stealthy enough to pass through Customs that some local postal worker will inspect it so much more thoroughly that they will find what Customs missed? Do you think that a local postal worker even cares if there might possibly be beans in a package? As long as they don't think there might be anthrax or something in the package they will never give it a single thought let alone a second one. There is no reason whatsoever to fear going to a post office to pick up a package with seeds in it any more than there is if they are delivered to your home? Would you think the reason you got a card to pick up the package was because the seeds were discovered and you were being set up? If that were the case wouldn't it make as much or more sense for the post office to just turn them over to the cops so they could take them to a judge to attempt to get a warrant and come search your house .. or possibly alert the cops, allow them to inspect the package and then return it so you could pick it up and then wait a while until they felt sure that by then you would have the seeds growing and then take their evidence to a judge and get a warrant so they could come catch you in the act? And if so couldn't they do the same with a package they deliver to you, as in first letting the cops inspect it, and then deliver it and later the cops come knowing that you received seeds and likely have them growing?

Caution is one thing, and it is important, but don't let your paranoia run away with you.

... ditto. if I got a slip i would let it be.
Amazing! Are you guys afraid of the postal police?

You guys remind me of an episode from the OLD TV show WKRP In Cincinnati where Dr. Fever destroys a telephone and then gets all paranoid because he say the phone company has their own police and goes on and on about the phone cops are after him.

I'd guess that no fewer than a dozen times over the years have I had to take one of those little cards to a clerk at a post office and pick up my seeds and none of them ever screamed citizen's arrest and tried to grab me and hold me for the cops or some cop step out from the back and cuff me or one come out of no where and block the exit so I couldn't leave and arrest me.

If you guys are so paranoid I am stunned that you can grow without ending up with a bleeding ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome or don't at least have high blood pressure and not having died of a stroke or heart attack yet.

What happens when you see a cop drive past your house or you hear a siren or a helicopter flies over your house or you see a strange car or worse yet a strange van parked near your house for a day .... do you go through an entire roll of Charmin?

Yeah i'm in the US, and the USPS tracking site has said "Origin Post is Preparing Delivery" for like 5 days now. I ordered late last Saturday night so i'm not too concerned right now.
Sometimes USPS says that right up till you already have your package! They aren't to great with updating tracking inf, I think! Also, you best be praying that your relatives didn't put their mail on hold while they're on vacation. My parents always have the post office hold their mail when they're away so it doesn't build up in the mailbox.

Sometimes I think the USPS tracking system is as slow as the postal workers are. I have had beans popped when the tracking information said my order was still waiting for overseas shipment. But then other times it has been as accurate as a Swiss watch. One time I came home from shopping and checked my mail to see if my order had arrived. It was not there. After putting away my groceries I got online and checked the tracking information and it said my order had been delivered. I knew it had to be a mistake because I had checked just a short time earlier and having a locking mailbox I was sure no one beat me to them and stole them. I figured the only way they could had been delivered was if they had been delivered to the wrong mailbox. I went to my mailbox anyway and sure enough, there was my order.

You really cannot trust the USPS tracking system all that much because it's degree of accuracy can be very erratic at times.

I agree with this 100% they aren't going to ask for ID unless you have to sign for a package at the PO... just bring the card in and if asked, you are a family member.

If the mailbox if empty of other mail and packages when your order arrives it should fit. If there is not enough room a card should be left saying a package that would not fit in the mailbox is being held at the post office ... then you just take the card to the post office and pick up the package.

At least that is how it works with the USPS anyway.

Contact Attitude immediately.... it may be that they accidentally scanned it delivered when it merely passed through a hub center. But the fact that it shows delivered in another state/zip, it should qualify under the stealth guarantee.... only problem your going to have now is a package coming weeks later, when your relatives mights be back..

haha i know i am a little paranoid about the post office, for some reason i always have that vision in my head where somebody goes up to the teller to pick up a package and suddenly theres like 3 detecs, "put your hands up" and whatnot. my city tries really hard to crack down on it thats why, cuz pot arrests are so damn easy compared to every other substance. it really varies by region i feel like its more dangerous to do post office pickups in some cities than others. like if ur in a medical marijuana state im sure the post office doesnt care.
