Mail Delivery: Attitude Seed Bank

I ordered 25 seeds and a medium T-shirt (stealth option) from The Attitude last saturday, and I ordered it to the address of a family member who is going to be on vacation. I can access their mailbox and everything, but the mail box is probably only like 4 inches X 4 inches and 8 inches or so deep. Will my order fit into the mailbox???

OR if it doesn't, will the local post office hold the package and ask for ID in order for pick up? I've been checking the address for my order and I want to know if I should check the post office and see if there is a package waiting for the person I used as the recipient address. Am I fucked?

Thanks for any responses or people who have been in similar situations.

The family member in question does not know about this whole thing...

silly silly boy.. if it doesn't fit, they will give you a slip of paper saying that they have a package for you to pick up at the post office.. but you'll surely need id to pick it up from there..
sometimes my mail person will just sit my attitude order on top of my mailbox if it doesn't fit inside. .. not sure how your will do it..

not to be a dick, but this is exactly why they always recommend to use atleast a real name of someone or send them to your house.. otherwise, if something like this happens, you could encounter problems getting your package..

If the mailbox if empty of other mail and packages when your order arrives it should fit. If there is not enough room a card should be left saying a package that would not fit in the mailbox is being held at the post office ... then you just take the card to the post office and pick up the package.

At least that is how it works with the USPS anyway.

good point BT ...you may want to keep the mail box empty until it shows
yah, that's a good point.. if they are on vacation now, there is probably some mail in the box, you should probably take it out for now and hold onto it till you get your package.. then, you can give them there mail back after you get it so that you don't have any issues..
i do know that sometimes i have to give id here in the states when i go to pick up something when i get my slip, but it all depends on who is working at the time..

Are you in the U.S.? Attitude sends my packages (to my address in SoCal) via Royal Mail, and I can track delivery at the Royal Mail website (http://track.royalmail.com/portal/rm/track?catId=500185&mediaId=22700601&keyname=track_home). Your tracking number can be found at the Attitude website (login and then click on your Order history...the tracking number should be listed at the top of your order). At least you might be able to find out on what day it's supposed to be delivered.

Yeah i'm in the US, and the USPS tracking site has said "Origin Post is Preparing Delivery" for like 5 days now. I ordered late last Saturday night so i'm not too concerned right now.

Hey, i live in the North East of the good old U.S.A and i ordered from Attitude on (2-9) late night maybe after 10pm and they said that they were Dispatched the very next day (2-10), and they got delivered to me on (2-22).. Very nice shipping wish it came a little faster unless something happened at the post office or something with the shipping.......

Attitude does say; '99% of International orders usually deliver within 7 – 10 working days, but they can take up to 21 working days" so since your order was placed during hours that they were closed and went out the next day the delivery time was a total of 8 working days considering that President's Day fell in that time frame, the third Monday of February, so minus the days that Royal Mail and the USPS do not work and the Holiday I'd say that you had very timely delivery. That was only 1 day longer than the shortest period of time they say international shipping would take ... take away the Holiday, President's Day, and you would have had them in 7 days or, possibly even 6 days since any Holiday backs things up a bit. I'd say that was pretty darn good delivery time when you think about how once in the hands of Royal Mail Attitude has absolutely no control over how long an order will take to arrive, that after that point it is all in the hands of Royal Mail, the U.S. Customs Department and the USPS.

Yes you are right Brick Top, i Apologize, i forgot about "President's Day" so that could be the reason why it took a little longer then...But i will say i love their packaging i did the Original Breeder packs with the Crush proof tin( if it dont fit in the Tin wit the Breeders pack they will take them out the pack) Mine Fit.. but anyways, They put the tin inside a small envelopoe wit bubble wrap, then placed that envelopoe inside a bigger one that had bubble wrap in it, When i got it i opened both then when i opened the Tin they had put a peice of bubble wrap in the Tin wit the seeds so they didnt get banged around when shipping!!! I will order from Attitude anytime!! and would suggest them to anyone......

It appears his 25 seed in a tee shirt order did fit into the 4" x 4" x 8" mailbox he had it delivered to after all.

Clearly he was not misinformed.

it should fit they send everything in like a paper envelope and stick a shirt in there with the beans, it really depends if ur getting the breeder packs or not. sometimes they throw everything into a CD case. but like thats a pretty hectic situation to leave urself in. depending on where u live im sure i understand it but u didnt make it easy on urself. anyway u can try to deduce when it will arrive and camp out at their house. from what i know east coast is around 8 days and west coast about 11 give or take. i've never had to visit the post office to pick up my beans personally i would be too paranoid.
