Magnum XXL or XXL

my buddy sold me a Magnum XXL ( I think ) maybe its an XXXL it has no stickers on it and no writing anywhere on the air cooled hood (thinking its a sunsytems ). I'm running a 600w HPS currently .. my question is are these good hoods? I bought it for $150 from him ... he said he wanted something bigger it barely fit in my 4x2x6 Area.

I would like to run my 1000w but unfortunately the difference in room temperatures is: 76f (600w) and 85f (1000w)

Thoughts?

they're horrible for 600w. They should Only be used for 1000w. It will spread the light too much on a 600. Not focus enough light downward. Yield will suffer.

Are you talking about running a 1000W hps in a 4'x2' area? If so, even 600W is too much imo.

My area is actually 6 FT(Length) 2.5 FT (Wide) 6 FT (Height)

...If I put my 1000 HPS and my temps spike up to 85f, BUT I have enough AIR movement should it be okay?

...My last grow I used 1000w and it would get into 80-85 f some days. Other days would be 77f and I had one of the best of yields to date.

Anyone else wanna chime in on this subject?

My question is are you gonna vent it? Those hoods need to be vented or they will cause more heat because of being trapped behind the glass. You can use a 600 but need to be vented. You'll need to blow the hot air out of the grow area.

Yes, I have it ducted ( if I didn't I would be a fool right? )

Starting from the window by my bed > going through the grow area and out ^ up into the attic ( which has vents for the hot air to escape)

WITH PROPER AIR MOVEMENT (FANS) WOULD 85 - 87 F be okay ?
( Temps outside around 75-80F )

I wish I could upload a video to show you exactly how the ducting flows, I'll post a few pictures in the next hour or 2 )
