Last nite one of my CFL bulbs slipped out of place it seems and it totally fried one of the big fan leaves, turned it into one crispy critter, thats for sure. The whole plant is probly going to suffer from this somehow right? Is the mistake one that i should abandon the grow and start over? I just turned the lights to 12/12 , i figured i was doing too well for my 1st try. Please help experianced growers.

1 lost fan leaf isnt going to wreck the plant, leave it alone and try not to let it happen again!
Should i crumble the char away from the leaf or just leave it on there? also some of the leaf ( a small portion ) didnt get cooked any chance it will regenerate?

Itl be fine man, remember these things want to live. They wont use a little leaf burn as an excuse to kill themselves, they'l hang on til the last dying minute just like anyother living organism on this planet.

Are you serious:lol:One leaf isn't going to do much:clap:neither are your cfl's for flowering you really need HPS:-P
Its just the fact that i have grown this plant without one single blemish so far, not even a yellow tip on any of the leaves!!

Do the leaves start to droop down alot during 12/12 light cycle? Because ever since i burnt the leaves the plant looks like shit bottom line.

if it was just the one leaf, then as stated above me there it is just fine to lose that one. hell, i prune my plants sometimes and thats more than 1 leaf gone.

as far as the entire plant drooping, a picture would be helpful there. i cant imagine that would be from just removing one leaf, it's usually over-watering or something. did you start to aggressively feed her after you cut the leaf in hopes to bring her back? if so, slow down a bit on the watering.

other than that, have patience, and your plant will let you know shortly what to do =)

pics would help its probably nothin major. i had a clone under a t5 once . it was totally touching the light buld for over a day or so. i just let it be . i ruined 2 fan leaves but it had no big impact on the plant its self. best thing to do is to remove the damaged part. its dead anyways.

be careful taking pictures with your phone if this sort of activity is frowned upon in your area. i know the newer smartphones will actually save location data in the photo itself, even if you upload it here.

turn all your wireless/data off, and the option to save your location as well, works for me.

Here is one pic, its pretty lame quality sorry. but this is the destruction i caused. How do I go about removing the affected leaf? do i just cut the char away or the entire leaf where it comes off the main stem?

Just broke the main stem on my 2 1/2 month old Sativa today!!! Did it while bending it, to keep it at a reasonable height. Broke the rough 2nd growth node in half, it was a heartbreaking event. Fortunately this isn't my first fuck up doing this. What im saying is, is that well maintained plants will survive just about anything...a burnt leaf will do nothing but force the plant to try even harder to regenerate that missing or damaged part! Don't stress, just move the plant a couple inches further away from the light source you have. That should get the plant to respond and make new leaves. Me, in my case, my plant has to make scar tissue that allows fluid movement through its main stem and all I have to do is make sure the bandage stays moist!
Its a far off concept but weed is a a strong, genetically gifted plant..it would be a plant that would find a way to survive nuclear holocosts!
:!::!::!::!::fire:DONT RIP OUT YOUR PLANT!!!!:fire::!::!::!::!::!:

LEAVE IT! Its not dead but it is burnt, wait until the entire leaf is dry looking and is flat, then remove the entire leaf.

defoliation (removal of leaves) is common practice. Your plant will only grow stronger from this. rip the leaf off and shake the shit out of her while your at it. bend the branches, pinch them and even do an indian rug burn on the bitch. if you love something let it go.
