I should point pout to the naive uneducated kids here that, in America, Law makers make laws, not churches. The church around the corner from you didn't tell you not to grow, your congressman did. I go to church and they couldn't care less about pot. Even if they did, I'm smart enough to know that they have no influence over that law. Stop w/ the inbred hillbilly atheist whining and pick up a text book and try learning something about your country. Write your congressman and stop blaming the wrong people. You all should be embarrassed by your very public rant showing off your stupidity on the subject.

yermom your misinformed about my situation and then just state your situation,

the church people did get zoning regulations passed that actually interfere with prop 215 laws.
Prop 215 had no mention of distance to a church what so ever.

The church people are using trickery and deceit.

While I am not an expert on religion I believe Christianity likes to believe that when the Garden of Eden was created and everything was perfect and there was no sin marijuana plants did not exist. In the Bible is says how after 'the fall' things like weeds only then first developed and they believe that marijuana is one of the weeds that only after 'the fall' began to grow and was not an original perfect creation of God and instead caused by 'The Devil' convincing Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and then talk Adam into sampling it too ... so to them it is the result of 'the Devil' and not an original perfect creation of God's.

It is one of those things than cannot be proven or dis-proven and falls under a religious belief and due to religious freedom their believe cannot be denied them or just ignored so certain concessions are made to placate the belief of Christianity, and also other certain religions.

What I find so amazing about it is in the case of Catholics the Catholic Church has done it's very best to protect pedophile Priests from the law for many, many decades, if not longer, but they have a problem with someone growing a plant near one of their churches even though in that State.County/Town growing said plant is legal.

What ever happened to separation of Church and State? Why should any religion be able to pressure and dictate to the government, on any level, from federal down to local/town, what can and cannot be done nearby their churches as long as it is within State and Local laws and why should they receives special dispensation from laws they do not like and be able to insist on what might be called 'sin free zones' for some certain distance around them?

In the case of the Catholic Church evidently it believes it is not only it's right but also it's duty to protect pedophile priests from the law while at the same time protecting us from growing and smoking the Devil's lettuce.

Do you think they might possibly be wrong in what they believe and do in both of those cases?

yermom dont think for a minuite your smarter than any of us, jaytrinity was just pointing out that the reason he couldn't grow was because of the church being near his house hes not saying jesus or a priest is the reason, you and everyone here knows its because of a government figure

I dont know which I dislike more politics or religion, both use wildly outrageous claims and downright lies to control the feeble minded masses who couldnt form an opinion of their own if their lives depended on it. Patients and perseverence is what it will take to change things.

come to Canada!! Indoor, Outdoor we do it best!! and are definetely not going to listen to any Law we do not believe in " If laws are deemed immoral, you must disobey them"...

And of course in Canada the law is totally cool and the gang with someone ignoring and disobeying a law if that person or people deem the law to be immoral so they will never bust anyone who disobeys a law they deem to be immoral, right?

Bear Pack Greets Cops on Pot Bust in Canadian Woods

Aug 19, 2010 – 4:05 PM

(Aug. 19) -- Canadian police on a bust in the woods of British Columbia found more than drugs at one remote cabin.

Cops in Christina Lake, a town of barely 1,500 year-round residents, were acting on an anonymous tip that a woman in the woods was up to something. When they arrived, they found $1 million worth of marijuana plants, but they weren't the only ones on the scene.

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer poses for a photo July 30 as bears walk toward him near a marijuana crop in Christina Lake, British Columbia.

Police were shocked to discover at least 10 full-grown black bears wandering the property. One officer grabbed a shotgun, fearing for his safety. To the officers' surprise, the bears were not hostile, and they seemed undisturbed by the sight of armed strangers.

"They soon realized [the bears] were very docile and very laid back, wandering throughout the property," Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Fred Mansveld told The National Post.

It appeared the bears were being fed dog food. Black bears can weigh as much as 600 pounds in British Columbia, according to the tourist website bcadventure.com.

The owners of the property, whose names were not released, assured the police that the bears weren't hostile. Still, with at least 1,000 marijuana plants on the property, they had other problems. Police arrested the couple, one of whom is known locally as the "Bear Lady."

The so-called Bear Lady is, by all accounts, a private person. She lives deep in the woods, emerging only to buy basic provisions. Many Christina Lake residents didn't even know she was married.

Christina Lake is a rural community near the Gladstone Provincial Park. Bears, elk, deer and mountain sheep wander through the countryside, and it is easy to live a private -- and criminal -- lifestyle away from prying eyes.

Residents took a benign view of the Bear Lady.

"She's just different," one woman told The National Post. "She's very much into thinking the bears are part of her friends. I don't think she realizes they are not a domesticated animal."

It isn't clear if the woman was keeping the bears as pets, or if they were meant to guard her drug cultivation operation, The New York Daily News reported.

Either way, the future for the bears is uncertain. Authorities in British Columbia have to kill dozens of bears each year if they rely on humans for food and then become a threat to public safety.

The bears were not the only guests on the property: Police also stumbled upon a pig and a raccoon napping in one of the bedrooms.

"The pig was a little frantic at the sight of police, but the raccoon was pretty laid back about the bust and took it all in stride," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said, according to The Canadian Press.

I am really curious what the logic and rationale is behind that feeling? Is it because when there is a Canadian bust there are bears and pigs and raccoons involved instead of pit bulls like in the U.S.? Is it that you think it would be more fun to be busted in Canada than in the U.S. and you might get some funny book or comedy movie deal out of the experience?

I'm no expert on it but couldn't you just vacation there and then woo and do and then marry a Canadian and pretty much have your foot in the door so far they couldn't slam it on you?

Or your not smart enough to figure out your own logic. You don't know anything about "church folk" as you judge and name call them, because your a sad little athiest. Don't speak for Christians, your statement shows your not even smart enough to speak for yourself. Ignorance spreads lies.
