With Lebron reaching near the end status, who is the greatest modern era NBA player.Strictly in basketball terms I say M.J.,he produced 6 championships(2 three-peats),and did so when driving to the hole required life insurance.I give Lebron props in using his platform to "Speak Out" about issues where M.J. was notoriously not into politics. But IMO M.J. was the greatest I've ever seen.

They are both great players on the court. Lebron views himself as the GOAT just like MJ does
[there is nothing wrong with that being as It's all opinion].

MJ influenced the game more and was clearly the most dominant player of his era. MJ also retired near the peak of his career, so I'm sure Le bron will rack up quite a few more records, but he also had a much longer career. I'm going with MJ #1 and LBJ #2 all time.

M.J. was more slightly built and played in a era when the NBA was more physical, remember those nasty Detroit teams he dealt with, when guys drove the basket then they hit the floor frequently thru opposing contact, Lebron is more powerfully built and plays in a era when guys bitch and moan for fouls. I think Lebron is more conscious of his social responsibility and will put himself "out there" more,Michael just wanted to play, though he was pretty gracious in accommodating fans and reporters,In also give Bron props for dealing w/the NBA as a 18-19 yr. old, mature beyond yrs.. On the court though M.J. has an electricity I've not seen since.

MJ was the greatest. Then he left, came back and was the greatest - again. Not many people can take time off like that and come back without rust. He turned 2 different squads into dynasties. He’s also been named the defensive player of the year, while also holding the highest career scoring average. Both players are complete players and could probably play 3-4 different positions out there on the floor in their prime. Jordan, better all-around individual player. LeBron, possibly better “team player” - 100+ triple doubles vs Jordan’s 28. Our grandkids will still be arguing this, lol.
