can anybody please tell me how many light lumens does it take to grow one plant, i know space with light can be an issue but how much does 1 plant need to absorb to grow good quality weed:leaf: here is a pic of my first grow.

You're looking for the right answer but you're asking the wrong question. Like "Homie" said, it's all about sq. ft. A "plant" can be any size from 1/4 sq. ft. to the size of a dining table. It all depends on the "way" you grow it!

Light isn't attracted just to the plant (like some kind of "magnetism"), it dispurses itself out to the entire available space. Even if it's just hitting "empty floorspace". So keep your grow space as compact as possible and use reflective walls to hold in the light.

Opinions will vary, but I would say 3,000 lumens/sq. ft. is the "Bare Minimum". A typical 400 watt HPS grow light will easily double that @ 9 sq. ft. = 6,00 lumens/sq. ft. You can go even higher!
