lst - to top or not

i like growing C99 plants but they get so damn tall for my area. if i lst should i top them or not before beginning lst?

top her first, usually about the 5 node…

then after more growth lst, wait for new shoots then top again, ya can fim swell at this time….

have a look for LBH's 4 way lst tutorial on here, just google it…. very useful instructions with pics added….

i'm sure by topping first i'll get many more bud sites. just trying to figure the best way to keep the cindy plants to less than three feet tall. danm things don't stop growing even late in the flowering cycle.

FIMing is the way to go. Correctly done you will end up with 2 to 4 main colas instead of just one. When space is a consideration an early FIM (2 weeks into veg) will be a much more efficient use of your available space. Topping is just a more radical form of FIMing where the entire top bud is removed instead of the top 75%. Again, the trick is to do the FIMing or topping early in veg so they have plenty of time to put out the extra branching that will be home to many more bud sites than seen in a non-topped plant.
